18 games ahead?

if this happens, you can pretty much guarantee more injuries across the board, and soon, the league will institute new rules to "prevent" injuries which will soften the physicality of the game

wish i could've used a better word than physicality

Which will result in more changes to make the game more exciting/last longer, which will result in more changes that make the game weaker.

Too many additions will eventually subtract from the game as a whole.

I'd love to see a 17 game schedule with the 17th game being a rivarly game against the same opponent every year from the opposite conference: It would set up annual matchups like this (or change them how you like, I did it mostly based on geography):

Jets-Giants

Redskins-Ravens

San Fran-Oakland

Carolina-Jacksonville

Pittsburgh-Philly

Kansas City-St. Louis

Denver-Arizona

San Diego- Seattle

Dallas- Houston

Atlanta- Tennesee

Tampa- Miami

Chicago- Cleveland

New Orleans- Indy

Green Bay- New England

Minnesota- Buffalo

Detroit- Cincinatti
