HAMILTON, Mich. (WOOD) - A man has pleaded guilty to accusations of fondling himself in a school where he taught music.

Daniel DuPuis entered the plea Wednesday in Allegan County District Court. The original charge of aggravated indecent exposure was dropped as part of the plea deal.

Now the 28-year-old will be put on probation for a year, and must complete a sex offender assessment and have no other criminal charges during that time. And if he does, the charges will be reduced to disturbing the peace.

Hamilton School Superintendent Scott Korpak told 24 Hour News 8 the school board on May 10 terminated DuPuis due to misconduct.

DuPuis admitted to fondling himself five times between January and April in a Hamilton Middle School classroom, according to state police. DuPuis said there were no students present at the time and the door was locked.

A janitor alerted school officials to DuPuis' behavior after noticing "suspicious" items in a trash can, including tissues that had the odor of semen, police said.
