The Eagles just showed how important building from the inside out really is.

We finally got the OL to compete. Time to do the same with the DL.

The eagles O-line and d-line were built in the draft filled with 1st/2nd rounders

Dave gentlemen was right in that "big men allow you to compete" and "hog mollies". but too bad his scouting abilities were terrible

Scouting and all around talent evaluation has been bad for a long time.  Hurney (*swallows vomit) kept us afloat with home runs in the 1st round.  We don’t even have that anymore.

Carter was a God send for them for where he was picked, sometimes luck factors in as well

    • Really? Don't we need a kicker? Thought the "all time most accurate" kicker was getting shipped.
    • So, much for a team sport in Cam's eyes. Imagine how he blamed his teammates all those years for holding him back? Cam valued MVPs over SB championships. Cam's MVP came from that defense & running game. Cam wasn't blowing teams out with his passing. It was short fields, turnovers and rushing. Jonathan Stewart, Thomas Davis, and Charles Johnson were those losers that carried Cam's passing inefficiency. Cam had 8 losing seasons in his 11 years. That's with Kuechly & Davis running that league leading defense placing in the top 10 in 2012,2013,2014,2015 & 2017. The Panthers took Cam Newton #1 but we all know he was over valued. I wouldn't have taken him in the top 20 picks. He was not more valuable than a Lamar Jackson or an Aaron Rodgers coming out of college. The move I wanted was to trade down for JJ Watt, Robert Quinn or Cameron Heyward, and get extra picks to trade up for best available 2nd round QB. I was good with Jimmy Clausen, Armanti Edwards, Andy Dalton and Derek Anderson battling it out in 2011. I was up for trading for Brian Hoyer to compete. I had my eye on Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson, Nick Foles and Kirk Cousins as possible QBs in 2012. I know many fans wanted Luck & had their eye on Wilson too. Learn from Cam Newton and Bryce Young. Stop reaching for QBs at the top of the draft. Build core defense 1st & grab the rare pedigree or freak skill position players on offense like Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson, Mike Evans, Barry Sanders, Marshall Faulk, LaDainian Tomlinson, or Christian McCaffrey.
    • NFL stands for Not For Long .. therefore it doesn't matter that the roster Cam came to was much of the 12 win 2008 team .. '08 guys had lost a step by '11
