Watching the replay this morning, from what I've seen so far he's doing a pretty good job - seems very natural - he may have found his next career...

I don't know why the Panthers don't bring Moose back on a one year contract to add experience to our receiver corp and mentor the young guys we've brought in. Moose is well over 30 but would not be expensive.

I thought that was fairly obvious, the same reason we cut Diggs, Kemo, Lewis, Hoover, and traded Harris, they wanted t give there younger guys a chance. Don't give up on Jarrett he will be fine at #2. I am much more worried about our SLB, SS, NT, and FB positions right now.

In each of those other examples we had a promising young player with at least a year of experience waiting in the wings... I'm not giving up on Jarrett but I'm also not banking on him and neither are the Panthers (as evidenced by our draft). WR is a tough position to learn in the NFL and a guy like Moose could add depth at that position while serving as a player/coach to help these young guys develop.

Bring him in on a cheap one-year deal and see how things take shape. If the young guys look good at the end of TC, cut him.

Love Moose.

He did good on the NFLN. Will be recording total access tonight.

A lot of great memories.

That being said, if the Panthers don't want him here to play even the ricky proehl role, then I don't see him being on the team. I'm sure he could play that role well, and I'd love to see him back...but that is not the direction the team is going in.

    • This is an important point.  When you let the offense choose the matchup so easily you are only hurting yourself.  At least make them work to get the matchup they want.
    • This is incredibly dishonest, and you know it. We didn't cherry-pick a "small amount of deep throws late in the year." We reviewed every one of Bryce's deep throws using the NFL's own film and data via NFL Pro. The analysis was thorough, transparent, and contextualized with game film. Dismissing that as cherry-picking is not only incredibly disingenuous, it is textbook gaslighting as well. Let's walk through the actual data: Top-10 in deep ball accuracy Top-5 in short-range accuracy Bottom-10 in intermediate accuracy (not ideal, but not "league worst" either) If you're going to lean on the "no pressure" qualifier again, his deep passing under pressure was covered. So no... it wasn't cherry-picked. Look, you don't have to believe in Bryce. That's your right... but misrepresenting clear, consistent evidence crosses the line from skepticism into willful intellectual dishonesty.
    • big picture though, that largely sounds like a horrible idea to go about things.  Not saying I think they did that.  Think the illusion of that is largely just PRish of presenting a image of things working out well.  But yeah, you don't want your WR influencing who you draft at TE.  Players are going to be bringing crazy bias into the equation and a 23 year old struggling QB shouldn't be making your top 10 pick.
