Cam would not say that with TD in the room.

I think Cam is a good soul whi gets a little carried away especially as he's become one who needs to constantly publish takes on everything with his podcast or whatever it's called.

Yikes 😬

Yes, Newton was a great teammate, or at least he became one. There were definitely some stories from his rookie season that were somewhat less than complimentary. And based on what Charles Johnson says, it sounds like there are more yet to be told.

On the mic though, Newton was always that friend who made you cringe when he started talking. Lots of us have had friends and acquaintances that we knew meant well but for whom we often had to apologize and/or clarify what they meant. Unfortunately, that's Cam.

When he started making his journey toward becoming a talking head, It would be one that had its fair share of bumps in the road. Looks like we've hit one 😕

And yes, Smith can certainly be one to shoot his mouth off as well, but it doesn't exactly sound like he's alone in his viewpoint here.

I think Cam needs to walk some of that back. But I have no doubt that he wasn't talking about the core guys on that team. That 2010 team had a lot of the pieces that went 12-4 form 2008. That 08 squad was one of the most complete rosters we've ever fielded outside of Jake Delhomme, he was the weak link.

Cam can feel disrespected by the organization but he's shitting on a bunch of incredible players with these comments. It just feels like it's for attention...

Yep. Cam is going to morph more and more into the Stephen A model now that he's on ESPN.

He's honestly ESPN's wet dream. Charismatic...and a history of not thinking before he speaks at times.

    • Not disagreeing with you, but maybe our front office should stop listening to that little voice lol.  We're always wrong.
    • You can't look at it in a vacuum. Every team is going to have different draft boards laid out based on their prospect evaluations, needs, and the way they perceive prospects fitting into what they're looking for schematically. No team is looking to move down if they perceive great value on the board but oftentimes the perceived value on the board is different between teams and that's when you see trades happen. Maybe somewhere in the middle of the 2nd round there's a team that will view the board and not see great value there for them and they don't see a huge drop off in talent moving down to #57 to pick up an extra mid-round pick or two while on our board we have a prospect circled that just glaringly shouldn't still be on the board per our evaluation and prospect rankings. That's when trades happen. It's all situational.
