re: jeff king....he has a bad offseason last year and was, regardless of what the official depth chart said, was the 3rd TE. barnidge was ripping it up. rosario was doing really well also. king was working out with the 3rd and 4th teams and was putting in the same extra work that the bubble players were.

jake was throwing to barnidge all the time....but that was practice. i know we have some players that are practice heros but barnidge was more than that. i blame jake for barnidge not seeing more action during the season. when the pressure got to jake in real game situations he had a tendency to only throw to those guys that were the old stand-by's.

they very well could be working towards getting barnidge and rosario involved more, esp. in the passing game. they could be passing king up in the depth chart this year. he's a reliable target but not much after the catch. he's no big play threat.

all that could be true but i don't think this TE that was brought in has anything to do with that. he's just another camp body.

Could be more telling than we realize. The guy is known for his inline blocking ability. So is Jeff King. Might show we aren't going to keep King around.
