yeah, he was obviously going for an emotional arching up toward the sky pose. but he didn't arch the back so it looks like a rigid torso put onto some legs at a weird angle.

he's usually very careful about anatomy, at least that's the impression i get from his blog.

Oh, without a doubt. You can't make it that far without a strong foundation and full understanding of anatomy. Even the heavily stylized guys like Nate Van Dyke could probably knows how to draw every muscle, ligament and blood vessel in the body.

That's why I liked Erik Larsen so much. His characters retained that comic book feel, his art was dynamic, his physiques were flawless...

Too bad Image had to go ruin everything.

Savage Dragon just never grew on me. Larsen just wasn't a very good writer.

I miss the Maxx cartoons. Best cartoon adaptation of a comic book ever.

Spawn on HBO was the best altered comic book adaptation ever.
