"Pax" Armanti Edwards

I don't give a poo if you think I'm drinking the kool-aid. Armanti was a big recruit out of high school at wide receiver and had a full ride on the table from Georgia. As bad as Georgia has been recently, they've recruited AJ Green, Mohommad Massoquoi, and almost got Calvin Johnson, so at least they know talent when they see it.

Armanti is a mother f**ker on the football field, and has the speed and athletic ability to make defenders blush. All reports indicate that he remembered just fine how to play wide receiver, and "wide open" doesn't begin to describe the number 2 wide receiver role for the Panthers.

I expect him to beat out Lefell and Dwayne Jarrett's corpse.

Armanti Edwards is a project, and realistically, a reach to ever be a starter in this league. One doesn't have to look far to see Dexter Jackson, and more than likely, a similar result. Even punters are too small at 180 lbs. in this league. WR is no longer a place to hide an athletic guy who lacks strength and toughness... it now requires all of the above, and Armanti ain't got it. The corners in this league will bully him into the turf, and laugh about it while they're doing it. He needs a lot of work in the gym to be competitive.

Obviously you haven't seen the guy play. Even though he played at App St, the kid is obviously special and is gonna fit in well as a WR in the NFL.

Fiz I couldn't agree with you more. However, I would changed Charles Johnson to the entire Defensive Line.

The following 10 players will make or break this team.

Tank Tyler, Lewis Leonard, Corvey Irvin, Nick Hayden and Ed Johnson in the defensive tackle spot with only Hayden returning from last years line up (Considering C. Irvin on the IR) We considered them enough talent not to address this position at all in FA or the Draft. So they have got to perform.

Tyler Brayton, Everett Brown, Greg Hardy, Charles Johnson and Hilee Taylor in the Defensive end spot. Starting with Brown and Brayton these guys need to take the lead and make the Peppers departure less painful.

Whatever combination we start will be the difference in our team. If they step up and provide enough pressure the back seven will be fine. However, if they fail, I don't care who is back there any QB in the league is going to tear us a new one.

So IMO the Entire Defensive line has to step up. If not we could see our 1st double digit loss season since 2001.

Let's be honest with ourselves here. Jake's progression in 2009 was Steve Smith-Jeff King-Corner back-Steve Smith. Gary Barnidge is an athletic white guy and if the NBA has taught me anything it's that an athletic white guy is nigh unstoppable if you can just get him involved.

The end of last year showed that Matt Moore was better able to spread the ball around than Jake "cans of corn" Delhomme.

Gary has the height, speed, and whiteness to be a productive tight end in this league as long as we have a guy that can get him the ball.

However, the early returns this year on Martin have been promising, and in limited action last year he was like that ukrainian dude who worked for the greeks in season 2 of the wire.

I agree with Dave in that D-line is gonna make us or break us. If they do poorly the whole D might get blamed since most of the back 7 will be working overtime to cover on 5 to 7 step drops.
