As far as Wolverine, I know Magneto ripped the adamantium from his skeleton in the Fatal Attractions storyline. I mean Magneto could just throw him out into space or something...its not like he would be able to get back to earth.

laying a trap implies that it's not a fight because one of them doesn't know about it. in a scenario where batman is mad at superman and superman has no interest in fighting, that would work.

but in a scenario where they were both interested in killing each other, it would be over before Batman did all that. faster than a speeding bullet, superman punch, exploded head, instant death.

Odds are Batman has already planned that scenario.

dark knight returns: 20 years of planning, got his ass kicked.

babel: years of planning, didn't work.

sacrifice: has the kryptonite that superman gave him, still gets his ass kicked and beaten to near death.

batman could never beat superman with any amount of planning.
