NFL Matchup show may be no more... Noooo...

Recommended Posts

I think the show is way to technical for the average football fan which is what makes up the vast majority of NFL fans. Only a very small portion of fans strive to be couch Ron Jaworskis. There is a reason the show wasn't in a more featured time slot, the audience for such a show is very small.

IDK, I believe there are a lot of fans that can appreciate that kind of show. Even if you're not that knowledgeable about the game, you can learn a lot from those guys.

Personally, I think it's a travesty that they put that show in the crappiest time slots. I wish they would make it an hour long show and put in in prime time, because it's much better than that NFL Live garbage.

I'll have to disagree....what drives ratings for the NFL are casual fans and they don't care about stuff like that at all. The casual fans by the hats, jerseys, merchandise, etc and they love the glitter and gold of an NFL Live show. I love football and love Jaws, but an hour long show breaking down game film for teams (usually not your team) is for a very select audience and would not equate to ratings no matter the time slot.

HAHA what a fuging stupid idea to cancel this show. Without a doubt this was the most informative show an the entire fuging network. Now where can I see Merril Hodge and his flattop talk about football? FUUUUUCKK

But seriously, this blows the show is cancelled.

How does anybody know that NFL Match Up wouldn't get the ratings though? They have never put it on when most people are awake and coherent enough to watch it. Just look at all the people in this thread that have never even heard of it.
