What if...

this is what you meant to say.

Nah, Alex looked good at the end of last season. Isn't this the same thing that has Panther fans clinging to Moore? Moore played well at the end of the season, and they hope it continues.

Why do anything as far as Claussen if the scenario presented worked out? If we go to and win the SB with Moore, that earns him a long term contract. Claussen will probably be here for a few more years as well, assuming he makes the team, and that he stays healthy. If Moore stays healthy throughout that time frame, then the opportunity might present itself to use Claussen to acquire other team needs, like a high draft pick or an established player or 2.

Jake Delhomme went to the super bowl in 2003 during his first year as a full time starter. Jake Delhomme is a franchise quarterback.

If Matt OR Clausen wins a super bowl, it will be because the team as a whole played well, and they were able to be competent game managers. Neither of them will likely be able to take the team on their shoulders during their first year as a starter. If they do? You have a problem.

If not, tag and trade Matt. (assuming the front office still believes Clausen could be the franchise guy.) I think the Vikes would legit give up their second and maybe a 4th or something if Matt plays well next year.

The bigger question is, if the Panthers win the SB, would Fox re-sign here? He is not exactly getting the red carpet treatment this current season and he knows that his value would never be higher on the open market.
