Meeks system will make Everette Brown a star.....he helped make two undersized DE's that have speed, Mathis and Freeney, into beasts....

also, any defense w. jon beason on it will NOT be a bad one. from reading his blogs and listening to what he says and what has been said about him he is the most driven player in the league....he was so pissed off that he didnt get voted into the pro bowl and he is dying to get defensive player of the year..oh yeah, he also is killing to get a ring....he will step his game up this year onto another level...he is a BEAST

Since he only played a handful of games last season, I think we're already used to playing without him.

He played every game, had great stats and made the probowl. And signed what could be one of the biggest contracts in history.

For which we received nothing

No he will be missed don't be silly

We will recover of course

You mean like he 'played' in the Dallas game? Yeah, we'll really miss that.

hell no we won't miss that. But we will missed how he played against Arizona, Washington, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, or the Giants.

People who say he takes 50% of his plays off don't seem to understand that he also plays for 50% of his plays.

I think his point was that we have for years have had to weather his ups and downs. Now we at least will have all new hungry talented players that are looking to make big money on there next contracts. Monetary Motivation is a powerful thing (see 09 Peppers after mid-season).

The good news is that there are many ways to generate a pass rush. We don't have a DE on the roster that compares to Peppers in terms of ability. Yes Peppers took plays and sometimes even games off, but when he was on he was one of the most disruptive defensive players in the NFL.

I think Everette Brown will progress nicely this year, but I think Charles Johnson will have a breakout year. Johnson has recorded 10 sacks over the past two years in very limited playing time. Greg Hardy has a great deal of potential and we drafted Norwood in part to be a 3rd down pass rush specialist.

Bottom line: we don't have a DE that replaces Peppers, but we can replace his production with a combination of other players.

I know,Its stupid but I just feel betrayed by what Peppers did the last couple season with the Panthers.I think he is a hell of a Ball Player, but it irks me that he wouldnt step-up and be a leader when Jerry Richardson gave him the keys to the franchise, then when he gets to Chicago he says he has no problem being a leader and would/will relish the oppurtunity there in that situation.

Also I kept lying to myself the past few season when others said he would take plays off or didn't give an all out effort, but finally saw the light during a few games last season.

Like I said its stupid and proabably immature for me to feel this way,but Im entitled I believe to feel a little jaded with the whole ordeal.Nothing more really.

I probably should be glad Peppers is gone so i will not have to watch him taking plays and games off while in a Panthers' uniform. The Panthers' defense now has some leaders that know about the word accountability. Burn your Peppers' jersey or simply throw it away if it gives you some closure. Peppers is Chicago's problem now. Urlacher's not going to put up with his lazy play as well, without calling him out.
