everyone lets highlights get in the way of facts, even when he was with the jets one of the complaints was that he would disappear at the end of games because he couldnt play with his weight.

he had zero effect on the Jets playoff run last year, because he doesn't keep himself in shape, he's been blowing out his knees because of his weight this is not a fluke.

Charles Godfrey also makes a lot less money than Jenkins allowing us to pay guys like Beason and Davis. And he is probably on the field more.

one of the dominant forces in the nfl when healthy. hated to see him go when he was traded, but that decision to trade him looks like a good one now.

The problem with Jenk was He was ineffective being a 4-3 DT because of his weight issues, He was unhappy in Carolina for much of his time here, He was lazy and had motivation problems, and he wanted to be payed like a Top 10 DT when he was not playing like it. He is good for the Jets cause he can balloon to 400lb and they dont care as long as he dose not move. That on the other hand didn't fly in Carolina.

the problem with a lot of this "want him back" nonsense is the idea that we didn't want to get rid of him. We did, because we felt we had to do so. He wasn't going to stay.

Thats absolutely true about him not wanting to stay either...He never would have, he was on a mission to get out of Carolina. I was sad to see him leave at first but I shouldve known his weight problems would just get worse and his body wouldnt be able to take much more.
