Madden

Recommended Posts

the NFL doesnt care about the quality of the games. as long as they keep selling copies, which they are....

we'll see. Hopefully they aren't that short-sighted.

Madden sales were down 10% last year, NCAA down 20%. That's pretty serious.

yeah, i think we should all get close to a million people who sign a petition saying they won't buy another NFL game until EA releases its rights. i'm actually trading my madden 10 in today and don't plan on buying another madden as long as it's made by EA. i might go back to madden 08, which has been the best madden IMO. oh well, RED DEAD REDEMPTION FTW!!!!!!

Seriously, the only people that whine about madden are the ones that aren't good at it.

i do work and ill be the first to tell you screw that game if i had something better to play thats football that ea allows to be made with nfl names i would jump ship immediately .. bring back nfl street!!

It doesn't cost anything if you buy the game new. New copies come with the online access code.

Blame Gamestop's shady-ass practices for that charge too. EA has to pay distributors, developers, marketing companies, etc. Gamestop buys your Madden for $20, sells it used for $54.99 and keeps every penny.

If EA had any sense, they just open a chain of videogame stores and do what gamestop does. I read somewhere a long time ago that Gamestop often makes more than $500 selling ONE copy of ONE game over and over again through their trade-in program. That's insane.

Uh I'm pretty sure your going to pay right around this anywhere you buy it new. (actually thats $5 cheaper)

They may all be making that extra $ if they are getting it cheaper but its not like they are doing anything illegal or even immoral. Now EA releasing the same crap year in and year out (madden 10 was a good start) and making stores sell it for 50+ bucks with little to no improvements other then a roster update, now thats immoral.

But if every store could buy the game for $20 there would be much more variance in pricing. Which is why I doubt very seriously they get it that cheap.

the only madden game I have ever liked (Im a 2k sports fan) is Madden 2008. I have no idea why but someone gave it to me and that was the only one I was able to stick with. Madden sucks, but EA does such a better job with it than NBA Live.... that is probably the worst franchise ever. NBA 2k absolutely owns it.

How was the head coach game.

I still play franchise mode all the time in madden 10.

I love doing fantasy drafts and without fantasy drafts developing picks.

Are they going to update the roster for madden 10?

If you think Franchise in 10 is good HC will blow your doors off. It was far from perfect (lots of glitches until after a couple of fixes came out) but it is definitely worth an ebay purchase. I got mine for under $20 (with shipping) on ebay and that was over a year ago.

I have no problem with Madden. I mean, what alternative do I have? I don't really hate EA for their exclusiveness either. Also, that dudes voice on the Backbreaker video was annoying.

I think you may have misunderstood what I meant. Gamestop will sell you a brand new copy of Madden (which half the time isn't in the wrapper cuz it's a display) for $59.99. They keep hardly any of that initial sale $$$. They then buy your copy back when you get bored of it for $20 STORE CREDIT. Not even that much if you want cash. They then sell your copy used for $54.99, they mark it down a mere $5. They then but it back again for another $20 credit and sell it again for $54.99. They repeat this process a bunch of times and make WAY more on each copy of Madden then the people that made it. IMO that's not cool. But whatever, god bless capitalism right?
