Brian Cushing wins DROY revote

Recommended Posts

He failed the drug test back in september and was clean from that point on. That proves the steroids had nothing to do with his performance which is why he shouldnt be stripped of his award. He's going to serve his punishment next year.

And then potheads get the book thrown at them.

Thats the society we live in. DUI's get much less attention then a positive marijuana screen (and usually little to no suspension). Both are illegal but guess which one is more dangerous to everyone.

You don't remember the commercial where the girl gets run over at the drive thru or when the guys little brother didn't get picked up after school because the guys were high, that's dangerous...

you seem to bring this point up a lot, how do you know that half the NFL does the roids? Not trying to be a smart ass or what have you, just curious as to what your sources are?

I have read where current players have said that about 20-30% of the league is using HGH, any reporter that has locker room access would say that is is double that. HGH is a banned substance yet it is not tested for and is known to be the most popular steroid. Believe what you will but if they were ever to test for HGH (which I doubt they ever will since it involves a blood test) I would think it is fair to say that most teams would not be able to have enough guys to take the field after the test.

Drug testing in sports is a joke, and it is also a bit hypothetical. Test for anabolotic steroids and make them against the rules but injecting a player with steroids (cortizone shot) and sending them back on the field is fine. It is a performance enhancer just like anything else and one of the strogest steroids available...without that cortizone shot, they couldn't perform at the level if at all. Then you have the massive amounts of pain pills they feed these guys....... until they test for HGH, I just assume everyone is on it and sit back and enjoy the entertainment they provide me.

HGH is not a steroid, and in my opinion it should be legal to use in any sport. when used as a prescription it is one of the best and fastest ways to come back from an injury. I'm not sure why so many people are down on it. HGH only has health BENEFITS whereas steroids can destroy your body with prolonged use. I think everyone should be taking HGH personally.

I am not anti HGH either but it is a performance enhancer that will give those that take it a significant strength benefit. Only thing I am against as far as HGH goes is how much it costs. :)

As far as steroids, there is nothing wrong with them either when used in moderation. Just like everything else, it is the excess that does the damage. Just like "regular" steroids, too many cortizone shots can ravage your body as well but the NFL has no problem letting them use that.

Yea, but if what he was taking is used to help a person coming off a steroid cycle get their testerone going again, then well uh yea. I know performance drops off after steroid use, but does it fall off in 4 months?

Cortisone is not an anabolic. Thus it dose not improve Performance. There is a massive list of banned substance in the NFL. Even water pills will get you in trouble. Hell they even test for Alcohol with there abuse program. While HGH may be a concern we all produce it and some in high numbers. The test are not that accurate ether. They can not tell if its synthetic or naturally produced. Do you really want to ban one of your Football players for life because they just have naturally high levels like the olympics do? At some point you have to draw the line.

Sure get technical......guy gets hurt and can't run....guy goes in the locker room and gets cortisone shot...guy comes back out and performs better than if he didn't get the injection. Performace Enhancer.

And yes where does that end.....Guy misses catching a punt because sun is in his eyes....guy goes to locker room and puts eye black under eyes....guy can see better and catches punt....eye black = performance enhancer.

I say ban it all, even helmets.
