They're holding out for the best price, trying to get the most. If the car has a lot of interest at $7900 they'll try to keep it there. If you're offering $6600 and the car has a lot of interest, or they've gotten that price in the past for similar cars, then they won't dicker as much. I know when I get good Hondas that show well, that in good time I'll get what I want for it, because there is so muchother junk out there. While you may think that XXXX is a fair price for it, oftentimes on Hondas or trucks you can throw the book out the window on what they're worth. People will pay more than book for good conditioned cars, especially when you are financing the car.
