I do think that Atogwe is realistic.

According to Brian Stull of 101 ESPN St. Louis, "nothing new" has taken place between the Rams and unsigned restricted free agent FS O.J. Atogwe.

It continues to look as if Atogwe is headed for unrestricted free agency. With June 1 (tomorrow at midnight) approaching as the deadline for RFAs to sign their tenders, Atogwe doesn't appear to be close to re-upping with St. Louis. It's surprising that the Rams haven't come up with a long-term proposal.

Even if he was. He doesn't really fit our needs at the moment. We need a solid backup safety and I think he would be too expensive for that

Atogwe was NOT a RFA this year. He was an exclusive rights player. That made the Rams the only team that could negotiate to sign him huntil this deadline. At that time, he does in fact become unrestricted.

I was confused on this as well until I read an article about it a few weeks ago.
