Gantt pointed out also that this could have happened to Peppers.

You could make an argument for letting him keep it, but you could also make one for stripping him of it.

Me, I'm not bothering because I honestly don't care.

I mean really? If they weren't on your team, how many people remember who won the DROY every year? Can anyone here tell me the last five winners without looking it up?

The AP can do what they want. I'm not that concerned about it either way.

Has nothing to do with the commish as this vote is decided by the press, NOT the NFL.

It's simple. When the press voted for Pep, they knew about his substance abuse. They did not with Cushing, thus a revote.

Notice that it's a re-vote and not an out and out stripping. Cushing could still win the award despite testing positive just like Pep did in 2002.

Gantt should do some better research. Peppers was not suspended for violating the steroid policy. He never tested positive for steroids. He was suspended due to the leagues substance abuse policy. It was because of the banned substance ephedra in a dietary supplement.

he was also suspended DURING his rookie season. not "oh we found out later and this is the second time that you've been publicly outed"

Disagree. While the AP isn't subject to the commissioner, I do believe their thinking is somewhat influenced by how things are in "the Goodell era".

OK, fine. Despite the fact the situations are not anywhere near the same, Cushing may end up being voted ROY just like Peppers in the end, and the AP is an body completely independent of the NFL, this all hinges on Roger Goodell.

The drug he tested positive for is a fertility drug.

I'm not sure how I feel about this now. I mean... it's a fuging FERTILITY drug, and it tested at a really low level.

Why is a fertility drug on the banned substance list? =/

Because it is used by juicers to restart the body's natural testosterone production after coming off of a steroid cycle.

Why would a man be taking a female fertility drug?

Here's a breakdown of what he tested positive for:
