Why is Fox out the door?

Cowher had already said he wanted the carolina job....he was waiting on J.R. to make a decision about Fox....had they released Fox this season Cowher would be our coach...Fox came in and did a better job then previous coaches he gave us the means to win but now we need a coach that gives us the rings...its like Jake he was a good quarterback for us he gave us playoff runs and got us to a super bowl and yea he went downhill but nonetheless jake was a good quarterback for us but not a super bowl quarterback....I like moore I truly believe he is our future but it is still in question whether he will be a super bowl QB or not. Clausen didn't win anything at notre dame but I think that was because of Weis. I would like to see Cowher come in and take us to super bowls but it could be another George Seifert or hopefully not another dom capers jesus

I'm hoping that the 3-4 defense does not come with him. Regardless of what people want to believe, we do not have the defense to play a 3-4.

we do have some players who i could see playing a 3-4 d, but if that were to happen i do expect others to come in.

As others said, JR has never let a coach go into their last year without an extension even when he then fired them later. The other issue is whether or not Fox even wants the job. I expect his pride was hurt when he wasn't given an extension and I expect if a decent job opens up like in NY or Tampa he will be gone.

I doubt that Hurney will hire Cowher. It would have to be a Richardson hire because Cowher would want control over player decisions which would take away one of the jobs Hurney likes. Given he hasn't signed his extension he may very well leave as well if Fox is gone. If Hurney picks the coach it will be a defensive coordinator or someone internally. If Richardson and Morrison make the pick, it could be a number of guys. My favorites would be McDermott on the defensive side or Gruden if we go offense.

Pleae, not the Cowher talk again. When are you guys going to realize that all the Cowher talk is RUMOR and there is no truth to it what so ever?

If the Panthers want to go the Rooney route then I suspect the Panthers will bring in a young, upcoming coordinator like Sean McDermott or Leslie Frazier to lead this team.

Owners have expectations, just like fans.

Thats why every season 5 or more Coaches get fired in the N F L .

Some could not get to 500

Some could just stay over 500

Some like Marty could get in the playoffs but could never sniff a Super Bowl

Some like Jimmy Johnson wins the Super Bowl and still gets fired.

JR has a high bar for Panther's performance .

{The Man has heart problems and may wish to see a Super Bowl win before the ticker stops .}

JR had Fox turnover ever coach on his staff in last 3 seasons in an effort to help get Fox back to Super Bowl.

It's the nature of the N F L

JR knows what Fox has giving him

JR wonders what a new coach could give him .

So do you stay with the same,or do you move on ?

Dating young men have this Question !:D

I don't know if richardson is as desperate to win immediately as you may think. Otherwise he does what chicago is doing and is all in this year. Instead he is thinking 2 or 3 years down the road and is willing to be mediocre this year for 2012.

Plus look at who else he could get. Cowher has 1 superbowl in 15 years. He hasn't even coached in years. Who is to say he gets back there for a number of years. it will take him at least 2 years to transform the current 4-3 into a 3-4 that he would like. How about Gruden. He hasn't been there since 2002. All of the assistants we could get haven't won one at all. Who out there is guaranteed to win one in the next 4 or 5 years? I am fine if they get rid of Fox but to assume we are heading back to the superbowl anytime soon is optimistic at best. We might be a year or 2 away from even making the playoffs at this point. I know all the sunshine boys here get mad when I interject reality into the situation instead saying I am being negative, but the truth is we may be better in the future and this whole youth movement may pay dividends down the road especially if there is a lockout. But right now we are surely not as good as we were at the end of last year under Moore.

Nobody really has a clue whether or not Fox will be back.

He's not under contract beyond this year, but could definitely earn an extension.

We can speculate on what it will take to earn that extension, but only Jerry knows for sure.
