Another reason to respect John Kasay

I have it on very good authority that John Kasay has to have his Knee cut open and have the Screws holding his knee together tightened every month, and has had it since the year he injured it.

I didn't know this till this week but he's a Mans man for going through that once a month.

and Kinda surprised he's lasted this long

What is surprising is that ANYONE would believe that bullshit. Come on man...you are better than that.

No disrespect intended but that is unlikely to be true. Somebody is messing with you.
Unlike a some people I don't just talk out my ass, my source is good enough that it is true and there ain't no maybe.

The reason btw that I'm not revealing the source is that I don't know if Kasay cared if it was public knowlege or not and I'm not saying who it was to that told me because it could get them in trouble

It wasn't Mike Florio was it?

Seriously. Think about it for a second. Wounds that are opened during surgery have to be kept in a sterile environment for longer than a few dayss. Plus, the trauma of kicking AND being hit, could end up creating serious complications for his entire leg. It just would not be worth it.

I have also never heard of someone needing their screws tightened on a monthly basis, believe it or not, but modern medicine can do a better job than that.

Whoever you think is giving you inside information, is pulling your leg.

I am sure that someone you trust did in fact tell you this. But, they are either screwing with you or is a complete idiot.

You cannot have surgery weekly to tighten screws....and play each and every week.

I will say this much, the person that I heard it from heard it first hand from someone that's had a topic made about them in this section of the huddle(and it's not Florio or any so called sports reporter. And the person I heard it first hand from is a member of my family that knew I would find it interesting.

It's not weekly it's once a month and we aren't talking major surgery just minor

Ok, first, at this point people need to stop the "screw loose" and "pulling your leg" puns.

Second, it's not improbable. What's unlikely is the part about the leg being "cut open" that would require several weeks to heal. But really, how big does an incision have to be to tighten a screw? You could probably just cut a small hole big enough to insert the instrument needed to tighten the screws.

It's not like they are replacing ligaments here, nothing needs to heal; this is superficial tissue damage; it's just skin over the knee. That would take days to heal, not weeks. I'd argue that if you had that kind of surgery on Wendnesday you'd be good to go by Sunday.

So Kasay's first kicks of the week start and basically end game time on Sunday? Kasay is too old to be healing that quick. Tightening screw may be minor surgery buts its a minor surgery to upkeep a major surgery, and I am sure there some healing time required a min 2-3 days, which means he basically never practices. There is just no way.

I am curious what is his salary?

Seems to me that tightening screws in anybody's knee on a monthly basis makes little sense. I am no doctor but have had several surgeries where screws were inserted in different joints. Knees and shoulders. At no point did they ever require screw adjustments routinely. In fact given you are likely screwing into bones or metal, you don't just tighten them up when they work themselves loose. The bones and screw arrangement are either permanent or temporary depending on whether the screws hold the bone together while healing or attach something on a permanent basis. Metal to metal isn't intended to come loose or unscrew. I wish there were someone knowledgeable about medical procedures who could confirm or deny. But I have never heard of that kind of thing, ever. And the issue with tightening screws into bone wouldn't be the cuts in the skin but the inflamation and issues with screwing into the bone and working loose over a month which would be very painful and cause lots of inflamation and other issues.

I have no doubt this is being repeated. I just question the medical accuracy of the report. This would be highly unusual from what I have heard about over the years.
