Well, you were gonna make sure of it one way or the other so what are you even containing about?

It always baffles me when posters seek to initiate the derails that they bitch about.

He complains to no end about haters but this man fully went on a milk carton for a week after the Cowboys loss. Didn't even stick around for the second half. It's hilarious.

Putting vets on your team doesn't stop you from getting developmental prospects. If anything it helps enable it.

I'd be hard pressed to find a complaint for a character Mack in the locker room as long as we still start building for the future.

It does in a hard cap league. Every dime you spend on guys in the final years of their careers is a dime you don't have to spend on younger talent. You only have so many draft picks. I just think it should be a Clowney or Mack question, not both. That would just be too much cap tied up in aging vets at one position group. If we got Mack I'd let Clowney go.

You act as if just throwing money to younger talent doesn't have risks too. Every move has its own risks and rewards. Kalil Mack isn't just an ordinary veteran and could have a Thielen like presence on or defense.

The best available young FA at the position is Chase Young. Who has already turned us down and under performed. After that it's Josh Sweat. Unless you think you're gonna hit it big on someone like Higgins this FA, or want to pay for OL more in the FA, Mack and Higgins doesn't hurt long term plans esp since Clowney expries next year anyway.

Oh wow, I completely forgot that Mack was in the same draft class as Clowney. It is wild looking at some of the names from that year.

I member Mike mycock, said he'd rather draft Mack over Clowney and no one else in the world agreed with him...... Ended up being right.

I’d rather extend Moton and tell Mack and clowney to go kick rocks. If we don’t walk away with 2+ DTs AND 2+ Edge from this draft, it’s a fail.

Watch out for this name- Michael Hoecht OLB. Rams top backup edge and they hired a rams coach for Intel. If the market doesn't get crazy, I think Panthers will make a strong effort. He's "young" too. Just soooo many teams have around 50-80 in cap space, while the Panthers are around 30 with cuts.....

No, I'm not. That's just how you're reading it. I'm just saying resources are finite and I'd only want to pay one of Clowney or Mack.

And my response is there is a world where both can co exist, I think both will be fine for the locker room. Neither are full time starters and better as situational guys at this point. But with our crippling lack of any discernable pass rush talent we need depth and technique more than anything else. Even if we go pass rush at 8 it's not a bad start to tie up some cap in pass rush for the year.
