Interesting info. from PFT, stating Clausen has a long way to go to unseat Moore

The worst part about this is they pretty much quoted what smitty said on first take or whatever he was on yesterday and then put there spin out it. I don't put much into that...makes me think that they haven't even talked to the players.

All i can say is..if Clausen was that bad and his teammates were that displeased, we would have heard about it by now. And what is wrong with Clausen coming in and getting on some guys? I mean the kid gets ripped if he gets on them, then he would get ripped for not getting on them because he doesnt show leadership.

Carolina fans--- This is what Jimmy Clausen brings to your team. As a ND fan, he brought good and bad publicity, but in all reality he did nothing that no other college student hasnt done yet got ripped for it. He plays his guts out for his team everytime he steps on the field, but people arent happy with it. But he is a hell of a player.

For my part, I never came within earshot of Clausen "barking" at anybody. Is it possible he could have? Sure, but it didn't look that way in any of the plays I saw. Given his position, he's not yet in the right spot to do something like that, and in all likelihood he knows it.

I did see Moore stop a couple of plays where someone lined up improperly (one of which drew some playful jabs from the defense) but he wasn't exactly "barking" either. And yes, I did note that at one point Moore looked unhappy; but from what I saw, only with himself.

As for Steve Smith thinking he's a punk, nothing we've heard out of Smith so far gives that impression. And while Smith is a company man, he's not always good at hiding his feelings. Hard to know if I can take that notion seriously.

Bottom Line: What you have here is a case of dueling sources:

"Unnamed Team Official" vs "a source with knowledge of the situation".

Either of those titles could translate to somebody's agent.

it should be clear what alot of the national media are doing, and that is looking for a story that has sizzle and our qb battle seems to have caught their attention, either way moore remains the starter thru camp and into the first part of the season unless clausen does something spectacular in tc and preseason. moore will continue to start if he/offense play well

LOL, the arm strength thing is completely ridiculous - I sat there and watched the man throw the ball, was impressed by the velocity. He was throwing the ball as hard or harder than anyone else on the field that day.

Me thinks that Jimmy Clausen and the Panthers QB competition are just this years pre-season media pet. Just like Vick's triumphant return last year and Spygate before that and Anderson Vs. Quinn before that and so on. These media guys have to try and do something to justify a year round salary, because in all reality they should only be collecting checks for about 8 months out of the year.

And Florio is the worst of them all. I used to go on PFT every morning when I sat down at my desk, and now I won't even click on links to that site from here. The fact that those PFT douches get fat checks for what they do just pisses me off and makes me unproductive at work.

Good grief. Somebody told me that PFT was supposed to be more mainstream and respectable than when they first started out, but apparently I was lied to. That site is obviously still the National Enquirer of the NFL.
