A proven, veteran receiver would make a lot of sense for Carolina, and there just happens to be one of those inexplicably floating around in free agency.

Although I think today's T.O. is much different that 3 years ago T.O. in both ability an attitude, he is the last person you want around young team. Especially considering the amount of veteran leadership we have just lost.

the last thing a young quarterback needs is a WR who drops more passes than Keary Colbert.

There are teams interested (not us) but the reason Owens isn't on a roster already is that while his salary demands are still that of a top receiver, teams looking at his performance last year see him as having lost a step...or two.

Now in response, Owens could say that he wasn't trying hard last year, but does that really help his cause?

He wants to be paid like an elite receiver, but there's no definitive evidence that he can still play like one.

And the truth is, he did this all to himself.
