“We’ll see how that plays out in the next few weeks.”

I wonder what he means by that?

If i has to guess, IMO the odds would be a restructure to his contract to free up cap, but this could just be athlete talk.

I think 100% he's playing & will be on the team this year.

I do expect there will be several restructures coming up (Moton definitely) to free up cap space.

I also think we will be at least as active in FA this year as last.

We still need a WR1, but if we can add one, having XL, Coker, and Theilen as WR2, WR3, and WR4 would constitute the best receiving corp I can remember since pre-Cam

Love him. A great leader and a dawg.

Yep. He could have went really negative and demanded out after all the crap he's had to deal with here over the past 2 seasons.

The fact that he wants to be here and lead this team back to respond speaks volumes about him as a teammate and leader

I felt the fact that he came to the Panthers when he did spoke volumes.

A lot doubted his ability to still be a viable threat.

All he has done,  is come in here and outplay every other Panther receiver on the field.

    • I have no doubt that he will show improvement this season, but to what is the motivation attributed to? Has the fire been rekindled or does he know there is a contract on the line.  There is no doubt at all that he has been stuck in a God forsaken situation since he was drafted. Judging him off the last 3 years is unfair which is why this is such a hotly debated subject.  Dan has been in the biz long enough to know that paying the wrong guy franchise LT money is career suicude. It’s salary cap devastating. sit a guy that expensive? Yeah, right. He’s also the one most likely to get the QB killed if he doesn’t do his job. Ask Cam (I think Watt came from the blind side). If Ickey turns himself in to a top 15 pass blocker and rips off a few glorious unnecessary roughness calls for unbridled violence after the whistle then by all means please pay the man accordingly.
    • i was listening to Rich Eisens this morning and he said the 6 most taxing words in the NFL are "the Jets are on the clock" lol as rough as it can be to be a panthers fan, i can't imagine being a fan of the jets for decades, especially on daft day.
    • Pick up the 5th and then go from there.   If they extend him unnecessarily then that's a head scratcher
