The official Dwayne Jarrett bandwagon

Recommended Posts

I find a lot of your statements flawed.

First off, I don't get how you can justify that he hasn't shown anything when the ball never goes his way. Furthermore, he has caught everything that was thrown his way. The thing about the bad QB that threw his way is that the bad QB was targeting one receiver and one receiver only and that was Steve Smith. Even Moose wasn't getting as many touches as Smitty has gotten. When Moore came in, he balanced out the passing game and giving more opportunities to guys like Jarrett and Kenny Moore.

2nd, in regards to Kenny Moore starting over Jarrett; I honestly believe they kept switching between receivers based on strategy and the strengths of their opponent. Moore possesses better speed then Jarrett while Jarrett is more stronger then Moore visa versa.

Now, in regards to all the receivers being drafted, well, it's called competition. I take it that since they drafted Clausen and Pike means that Moore is automatically out based on your statement right? No, it just mean that Fox wants competition. Doesn't mean that Jarrett isn't the #2, just means that he is in competition.

So conclude, how about waiting until after Pre-season to make judgements?

If you read my post you will see that I stated I DON'T believe Delhomme was averse to throwing him the ball. I believe that the ball didn't go his way because he's slow, lazy and can't open. My statement is not flawed. And Delhomme's "locking in" on Smith has been greatly exaggerated for years. HE'S THE NUMBER ONE RECEIVER. OF COURSE HE IS SUPPOSED TO GET THE BALL MORE.

Your point about Kenny Moore is a huge reach. This is professional sports. You put your best players on the field. If DJ was good enough to be the #2, they would not have played Moore over him. This was the coaching staff hoping and praying that maybe Kenny Moore would break-out and be the #2 WR that Jarrett couldn't be.

They drafted Clausen and Pike because they were by far BPA, and both were huge steals where we got them. We also had no reliable back-up QB. Now we have two. We drafted receivers with two of our first three picks because it was BY FAR our biggest need. If Jarrett didn't SUCK, then why would receiver be our biggest need?

ill be suprised if he makes the team

QFT

Eh look fellas, it'd be great if the guy was a gamer but he's not. Smitty seems to have given him all the opportunities to learn from the best and he hasnt preformed. Im sure a lot of you guys have the cred to make a statement on this guy one way or another but the one opinion I know I can trust when it comes to receivers is Eight Nine.

All you guys saying the DJ is gonna be great seriously think Smitty doesnt know what he's talking about? cmon now.

DJ is gonna be great

at selling cars at your nearest auto retailer.

By the way, Im not much of a college football fanatic but I had a question about the drafting of Lafell vs Decker (or someone else). Who is the more Pro-Ready or polished of the two? It would seem to me that if they are searching for a polished receiver that would potentially be ready week 1 then the coaching staff has already likely written DJ off as well and are in fact saying ' this is your last chance'.

D-Wayne has been my boy since even before we drafted him and I predicted us picking him in the first round... It is my bandwagon you are all jumping on!
I don't know if I would brag about that if I were you....

Eric Shelton just needs to see the field. He's looked pretty ok the few times he's actually played, he's just buried behind Davis and Foster.

WTF why does Fox hate him he only plays vets.

I'm with Sloth on this--Shelton's just as likely to come back and be a star as Jarrett is.

As someone pointed out in another thread, last year against Miami or Buffalo (can't remember which), Moose got called twice for illegal formation penalties. Both times it was because Jarrett came in and lined up wrong. This was a receiver in his third year who still didn't know how to line up for a play, and you guys all think he's going to be a stud this year?

Jarrett is a bust, period. Maybe he can shake the label and we'll all he happy if he does, but for now it's all over him.

I am really gonna enjoy quoting a lot of you if DJ comes out and has an amazing season. If he doesn't I am just a crazy Panther fan who drinks the kool aid....

I would love for DJ to break out and become the #2 that the Panthers haven't had since Moose was in his prime. I HIGHLY doubt that will happen, and I've moved on to hoping Lafell and Edwards become monsters, but I'll gladly eat my words if the impossible happens.
