IMO Schotty was fired because the GM hated him.

I think one of their disagreements was over Brees, Schotty wanted to keep him, Smith wanted to go forward with Rivers.

So that explain why they got Rivers in the Draft when Brees is still a good player & in his prime. That was pretty stupid, so I'm glad we haven't run in that kind of situation so far in 13 yrs. of the team playing. You don't get rid of your best QB for another good QB.
