Additions complete; how satisified are you entering 2010?

So, 8-8 2010?

that has been my prediction w/ a note we could go a game under or below. The OL, RB talent along w/ not turning the ball over is simply going to win games......Fox will still play not to lose and we will be in a lot of close fights. It just won't be a playoff team imo.

I'm satisfied for 2010, ecstatic about the future(post-lockout/CBA etc.)

It's obvious they're preparing the team for the potential lockout, so I can't sit here and say I'm super happy about some of the cuts/etc. Tons of talent to build on in the future, though.

My biggest concern though is depth. I think Martin/Godfrey will be better than Godfrey/Harris, but what happens if one of them goes down or is having injury problems?

HOWEVER, for once I can legitimately say I'm not concerned about the quarterback position. God it feels good to say that.

one of the best things in years was us losing trgocrap.

Maybe its me not knowing the X's and O's of football as well as I would like to, but I remember us having some pretty damn good defenses under Trgo. I haven't followed as closely as some here have though, so I'd be more than glad to admit I'm wrong if someone shows me the light. :)

I'm very uneasy. What they've done is very risky, a huge gamble. The entire defense worries me. I can see them getting burned too often for our offense to keep a lead. And, yes, FB worries me too. IMO Hoover did more for our running game than I think fans realize.

I will have no high expectations this year and hopefully I'll be very surprised. I'd like that.

I ran a formula to see if it matched to form. I honestly fall between satisfied and happy. Based off happy, we'd go 10-6 and that's a bit higher than what I've been saying; 8-8 or 9-7. If I go halfway between happy and satisfied (which is truely where I am) and average equals 7.5 loses, which hits it on the nose.

*Take the scale of content and multipy that times the number of positional worries is the number of estimated loses.

Incomplete. ;)

i don't think the additions are complete...still a lot that can be done in the next couple months leading up to TC.

probably see more DTs brought in (hope so anyway). i'm not convinced that we are set there.

overall i feel pretty good about this coming year. i'm more excited about the long haul, though.

i think we have an upgrade at QB for sure this year and i love that we have our new franchise QB on the team right now. not completely sure who that is but i feel like we have something really good to look forward to in that regard.

i feel good about WR as well. we will be at least as good as we were last year and could be better. i love the potential in the WRs we brought in. i feel like one of them will contribute significantly right away. an upgrade at QB is going to make our WRs better.

i feel better about STs now than i have in a long time. we have some real potential there for returners and we also have a good group of coverage guys that will help. plus we don't have crossman here anymore.

the Oline and the run game are still top notch.

I like the potential at DE we have. i wish we could have brought in a vet but i'm not going to complain. brayton is solid. johnson and brown are on the rise. hardy ahs some decent potential and i love norwoods prospects. still not sure if they are going to have his hand in the dirt much but one way or another he will be getting to that backfield.

I like the LBs. beason and davis are flat out awesome and i think we have an upgrade at Sam.

marshall will be back this year and i like what he, gamble, and the captain do at CB.

i wish we could have kept harris but i don't think we will see much of a drop off with godfrey and martin back there. we should be improved in coverage and should see more INTs.

DT is the only problem i have. i think we have potential there but only that. no one is proven by any means. i'm cautiously optimistic about it but leaning more towards cautious.

i still think we should have a winning season this year but beyond that is what i'm really excited about.

10-6?

I don't feel comfortable making a prediction on our season because I haven't actually seen our team play yet. Our defense as a whole is almost an unknown to us. We're going to have at least one new starter at DE, new starters at DT, a new OLB, a new FS, and a former FS moving to SS (even though in the Tampa-2 its essentially just a pair of safeties). Some of these positions will probably be filled admirably by the kids, others will struggle.

Right now the team, especially the defense, "is what it is", and that's a pretty big question mark.

I'm fairly certain we are done until camp save a few no-names.

Besides that, I can't agree more with your post. What about safety? I think both Godfrey and Martin are good and both could be great, but I think they will have to gel back there, which will lead to early mistakes in my view.

I'm just seeing if this formula is holding to form. If you were to take a stab, would 10-6 +/- a game be in the ball park?

Godfrey has had two years of mistakes. If they keep him at FS....he has used up all the "learning/rookie mistake cards he can play".

I will lay of the Godfrey bashing for now.....but kid needs to step up this year big time.

Yeah, I'm thinking 9-7 this year. We struggle early on, but mesh after the first few weeks to end at 9-7. And Fox/Hurney get their extensions. :D
