Why I feel the front office

Recommended Posts

Hasnt given up on Dwyane Jarrett. Lafell was not brought in to be the number 2, but with that said Lafells speed allows us to put Smitty in the slot have DJ out wide and Lafell to stretch the field still. Thats why the front office ignored his hands and also is trying to convert Edwards. We need someone to just STRETCH the field. We NEED DJ's hands and his big body as our possesion WR he had his coming out party to finish the season, and hes not done.

Jarrett has to step up this year because as many people thought drafting two QBs undermined Moore, drafting three WRs really undermines Jerrett (with apparently Goodson getting reps too). If the light doesn't come on this season, then I don't think he's got the deep deisre that it takes to last in the NFL. He's basically a young Moose, but the light came on for Moose at some point and became a solid WR.

in the games he's played in:

30 games

35 receptions

414 yards

11.8 avg

1 touchdown

1.16 receptions per game, 13.8 yards per game, .03 touchdowns per game

games he's started:

3 games

7 receptoins

56 yards

8 avg

0 touchdowns

2.33 receptions per game, 18.6 yards per game, 0 touchdowns per game

When he plays and Moore is at QB

5 games

5 receptions

68 yards

13.6 avg

1 TD

1 reception per game, 13.6 yards per game, .2 touchdowns per game

It's interesting to point out that all of this production came from the saints game, a game where the Saints rested their starters and had nothing to play for. All other games where the starters played he didn't produce at all. The tampa bay game of 07 didn't have the starters playing but he still didn't produce.

we're 13-17 when he plays, 1-2 when he starts.

San Diego 08, Arizona regular season (08 & 09) and the last saints game 09 are the only games where he has gotten over 20 yards and we have won. Any other game when he's produced we've been beaten by a healthy margin.

Maybe it's because Jake Delhome is the only bad QB in the league. Poor, poor Jarrett.

Mohamed Massaquoi overcame Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn. The had the worst combined passer rating in the entire league(worse than Delhome's) and he was on the 8th best rushing offense in the leauge.

Brandon Pettigrew was better with Matthew Stafford, Dante Culpepper, and Drew Stanton at QB who combined for the 2nd worse QB rating in the league(worse than Delhome's). And he's a tight end.

Sammie Stroughter was better with Josh Freeman, Josh Johnson, and Bryon Leftwich at QB. They were 3rd worse in the leauge by passer rating(.4 better than Delhome).

Louis Murphy was better with Jarmacus Russell, Bruce Gradkowski, and Charlie Frye all throwing to him. They combined for 4th worse in the league.

Bradon Gibson was better with Marc Buldger, Kyle Boller, and Keith Null throwing to him. They combined for 6th worse in the leauge.

None of these guys have the luxury of a QB coming in to play for 5 games with a QB rating of nearly 100. They are all far worse than we are. The Browns and Raiders threw for even less yards than we did.

Jarrett had gold at QB for 5 games but he could barely beat out Moore and Martin for the opportunity to even get on the field.

Just a little analysis.

Some people can't replicate their college production in the pros. I have a feeling that is Jarrett. I guess we will see this year with another QB and getting the chance to start opposite Smitty...assuming he gets out of camp as the #2.
