I bet Bill Belichick would be on that list too.  It seemed like a lot of players just put up with his approach because they were winning.  Sometimes the coach you need isn't the one you want.  That's why you need a coach if you think about it.

lol don't think you're quite getting what I'm saying, because yes, I totally get that sometimes players don't enjoy playing for a great coach, and yea, I'd understand if Belichick was on that side of the list.

All those other guys on that list, I can see it, there are known things about all of them that would make us fans get why they're there.

I was literally asking WHY McVay was on that side of the list, as I'd never heard anything about him or his coaching style that would make players not want to play for him.  Not that I was just saying "hey, he's a great coach, why would anyone not want to play for him?"

I did not see this coming.  I’m genuinely surprised.

I heard rumors--after hiring Pierce from within, I guess they decided to the opposite route.

I love having Carroll in the NFL--I hated the Seahawks, but I loved his love for the game.

If you listen to the media, it is starting to look a lot like McCarthy in Nawlins.   Not so fast...the odds say they get an old friend who was, according to some, thrown to the wolves, tarred and feathered, and then thrown under the bus in Carolina:  (odds from 1/24/25)

Not following the logic of this.   Unless the raiders are in complete disarray and need an adult to get things back to square 1

They do, they really do. And he's a culture building guy that is better at talking with this generation of players than guys 20 years younger than him.

He'll turn them around and into a winning team before he chooses to retire.

If he ends up in New Orleans, we're going to have hell to pay. He'll spend the first year or two trying to find the next evolutionary step from Cam to Josh to... And if he does it'll be lights out in the floundering NFCSouth.

There are a lot of other names on that list beyond Brady's that I'd rather see get that job, purely for the selfish reason that I'd want the Panthers to have an easier go of it.

Idk I do think ultimately Pete Carroll is a capable head coach but he's pushing his mid seventies and now he's going to be working under Mark Davis. And as far as his resume goes if I'm just being completely blunt when he was at his best in this league he will always be known as the coach who had the chance to win back to back Super Bowl's but arrogantly opted to take the ball out of the hands of Marshawn Lynch in one of the most obvious and simple run the ball scenarios in league history. He's kind of overrated.

I seriously doubt it, unless Josh Allen goes with him.

    • You don't bet on the outcome, you bet on the storyline and it's easy to follow. Kelce wins MVP of the SB and proposes during the awards ceremony. Goodell cements millions of Swifties to the NFL and their billions of dollars they're willing to drop.
    • TBH, I’m not sure any team is going to breakthrough in the AFC as long as Mahomes and Reid are in KC. With Reid’s run in Philly followed by his run in KC, I’d give him the mantle as GOAT coach over Belichick.
    • To not pick a elite player at any position over need to pick the second or third player at a position where there is not much of a drop off in day 2 and 3 let’s face it there only a handful of blue chip players we had almost half our defense go down with injuries some will not be retained but most will be back next year. Free agency will be focused more on defense we have 1 Rb you want to depend on and the running game is the biggest part of our offense we have picked another Rb with the 8th pick before so it’s not out of question . all I am saying is if the top guys are gone we have 1 pick in the top 50 get the best talent available considering most of our draft will focused on defense it a possibility our first will be on the offensive side WR Rb or TE or trade down to acquire more picks
