Trade a QB please...PLEASE! Its Cleveland all over again.

Are you 12 years old?

11, thank you.

btw just to make you guys feel better, Rip Scher was the QB coach up in Cleveland when they had all those crappy qb's. Heh just food for thought.

Somebody already mentioned that, which you would know if you read the entire thread.

too many good receivers dropped way down from where they were expected to be drafted. there was no reason to go wide receiver with the 2nd round. qb is the most important position in football. we have to find one that can carry the team. it was the right call.

How does that prove your point AT ALL?! You just said too many good receivers dropped. Well, guess what: Clausen dropped a lot too. So, just how was Clausen a better pick than any receiver? I mean, I agree that he was the right pick, but your post makes no sense.

Browns had a piss poor run game compared to the Panthers and no one even close to the talent of Steve Smith at wr. Of course their Qbs looked horrible. I don't think any young Qb would be able to succeed in that situation.

The difference between this situation and Cleveland is that we have an excellent offensive line and running game. We're not nearly as dependant on the QB to win games for us as Cleveland was/is.

All that aside, there are some similarities but we're talking about a totally different set of people here. If we have Anderson and Quinn, I would be concerned - but you can't estimate Moore and Clausen's potential based on what happend in Cleveland with Anderson and Quinn.

it makes perfect sense. too many good receivers dropped farther than they were supposed to, thus we didn't have to spend our 2nd round pick to get a good receiver. we got one with our 3rd rounder. therefore, in hindsight, clausen was the right pick in the 2nd. there would've been no point in getting a receiver in the 2nd with the whole pool of quality receivers that dropped to the 3rd.

My computer is stupid so I couldn't post this back during the draft, and almost two weeks later I still don't get it. I like the Pike pick. Moore needs someone to back him up. Thats cool, but why Jimmy Clauson in the 2nd round? Is Moore not the guy? Either way we wasted a pick that could have and should have been Shipley, and of course he was the very next pick. to the point of the thread, remember a few years when Derek Anderson was a Pro Bowl QB and the Browns didn't really know what to do about their QB situation? Then this year happened and it turned out neither one was that great. Here we have 3...really 2 QBs that think they should be starting. Clauson and Moore could turn out to be the next Quinn and Anderson, so just trade one (Clauson) and have Pike back up Moore (or Vice Versa)

2 cents.

You really think it's worth that much?

We shouldn't trade any of our QBs before they have even had a chance to prove themselves on the field this season. Matt Moore will get the first crack at the starting job and should he hold onto it, Clausen sat out his rookie year, which isn't a bad thing, and the team can evaluate the QB situation next season, if there is a next season. If Moore falters, then we have Clausen to step in and show what he can do. Too soon to trade any QB. Should have waited a year before posting this.
