roster moves?

I can almost guarantee you we won't get Bosh, we simply don't have the money to do it. If there's too much focus on guys like Bosh, Stoudemire, and Boozer, someone is going to slip in and get David Lee who could make just as much of an impact as the bigger names and will come at a lesser price.

And yes, I do agree that we're a pretty solid team, but at the same time there's some positions we need to get better at. I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but upgrades at PG and C are an absolute must if we want to build on the success of last season.

David Lee wants to get paid!

See if I had to choose between an upgrade at PG or an upgrade at center, I have to choose PG. A PG can help the rest of the team out including the center. You can't say that about a center, or at least not to the same effect.

You'll get no argument from me on this. If we could only upgrade one spot this offseason, I'd definitely pick PG.

I think Augustin is gonna be a fine starting PG. Better than Felton.

If he was going to be better than Felton then I would have expected him to do something in the time he's been given. He was pretty good in limited time in '08-'09, but his numbers got worse this year and he's hasn't shown a lot of ability as a facilitator. He's also on the small side and can get plain outmuscled by a lot of guys he'll get matched up against.

I think he'll be a fine back-up over the course of his career, but if he's a starter for this team I think something has gone wrong. I'd rather put my eggs into the basket of Raymond Felton than to hope Augustin turns into a starting NBA PG.

DJ was fine after Flip got traded. But I agree DJ will always be a defensive liability, but how can anyone say that Felton wasn't a defensive liability watching Nelson blow by him in the playoffs?

I don't know if DJ is the future. I do know that Felton is not the future.

Felton was bad in the postseason, but that one series shouldn't make up your mind about the kind of defender he is. Basketball-reference.com has him as contributing four wins with his defense, so he's hardly a slouch on defense. That actually puts him on-par with Kobe as a defender.

Augustin looks like a better scoring threat than Felton. Felton is a better facilitator and defender than Augustin is. To be realistic, I wouldn't expect either of them to be more than league-average, and we'd have to hope Augustin could be that if we gave him the starter's job.

He was decent, but he didn't show me anything that would make me go back on what I've already said. If given the same playing time, DJ would be a better scorer with Felton as a better facilitator and defender. I don't think some success as a combo guard off the bench means he'll be a successful NBA starter.

I thought DJ defended Nelson better, and looked less lost than Felton the entire Orlando series. Just about every run we had in that series, DJ was on the floor and Felton was on the bench.

Again, you can't use one series to totally judge a player. Sure, Augustin looked better against Nelson and running the offense over the course of four games, but what about the 82 games prior to that where Felton was the starter and helped lead the team to the playoffs?

Raymond Felton can be the PG for a playoff team, that much we know. What we don't know is if Augustin could do it, and he certainly wasn't pushing Felton for playing time this year. I don't have faith in Augustin being a starting PG for us.

this may be random, but I am tired of getting to the playoffs and losing in the 1st or 2nd round(Hawks Fan).this sounds crazy I know, but I would rather miss the playoffs than getting eliminated in the 1st/2nd round. I want a new team...and im just not a big fan of the Bobcats, so no to them. so who should be my team?

Bobs will never be better than a 5 seed with Felton running the point.

And I'm not disagreeing with you, unless we can get a serious post player. But at least we know that Felton can be the starting PG on a playoff team. How are we supposed to be better with DJ if he couldn't even play well enough to push Felton for playing time?

I don't want DJ or Felton as our starting PG, but if it absolutely HAS to be one of them, we know Felton can get us to the playoffs. Doesn't mean that I want him as our PG, but I'd prefer him starting over Augustin.
