We Haven't Drafted a Defensive Player in R1 Since 2021.

This is a huge contributing factor as to why our defense has been so terrible 

We haven't used a 1st round pick on a defender since getting Horn in 2021.

Also strikingly, SEVEN out of our last eight top 2 picks in the draft are all offensive players. 3 of those 7 picks are one QB and two WRs that aren't even on the team anymore 

Needless to say. I'd be pretty miffed if we get another offensive player in 2025.

This fuging franchise just isn't good at drafting wrs. Outside of Musin Muhammad,  Steve Smith, and DJ Moore. In 25+ years as a franchise.

I wouldn't be surprised if the get another wr in r1 or r2 this year. They'll keep doing it until we get a aj brown/dk Metcalf type dude they keep desperately trying to find

They need to fire those sorry ass scouts. I know for years green Bay and Pitt have found WRs in all parts of the draft. 

 

Heres the current deal, the best group this team knows is WR. Dave was a WR for years, his OC brad was one at TB, and there's a HOFer as Carolinas' WR coach. They should have that spot on lock...

Offense or defense a big part of why we've been so terrible is that we've done a lot of terrible drafting and let some decent players walk. We've pretty much been holding class on how to fug up roster management.

Tbh what is this franchise good at in general? I can’t think of anything.

Used to be defense. We don't usually have poo defenses. They're usually solid or very good

It's not the 1st round drafting that's been the problem its whiffing every other round that's killing us. Other teams hitting on day 2 and 3 of the draft are the ones killing it

yup - how many of our 2nd / 3rd round picks are even starters since 2021?  BC and Tremble are at least getting playing time and are solid depth, but beyond them, we've got... DJ Johnson...?

Other teams routinely find quality starters - or better - in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. We're just happy if they're still on the team 3 years later, lol
