We certainly botched the handling of Brooks’s rehab and/or his return to play decision.

I’m still not giving up on Brooks becoming an important contributor to our team. Unfortunately, I don’t think that happens until 2026.

ACL injuries are very routine nowadays and of course our guy had a weird recovery process and tore it again immediately.

From everything I read it sounded like they were slow playing his return and being extra cautious. Do you know somebody in the training room that knew otherwise? What was weird about it?

Every injury is still different. Thirty years ago and ACL was the equivalent of an Achilles today in that it was pretty much a guaranteed career derailer. These days it's an assumed six month bump in the road but it still doesn't always work out that way. It's still a significant injury and there's a decent chance a guy isn't going to come back the same from it.

If nothing else I hope like hell that Dan Morgan learned his lesson here.

Both about drafting RB's in the first two rounds and especially injured ones.

Every year there are 800+ yd rushing rookies in the 3rd round and lower.
