Which rookie will have the best season?

Should be interesting to see who is the most (immediately) productive in this batch of rookies. Obviously the team is looking for our new WRs to make some sort of impact but a lot of the rookies should see significant field time should they make the team. Does Clausen see playing time? Do Hardy or Norwood prove a terror in the backfield? Does Pugh step in when Godfrey goes clubhanded again and outplay him?

The logical choice is one of the recievers as it is the position of most need and someone should get lots of playing time, but recently Fox/Hurney have been pretty good at drafting defensive players, especially in the back 7.

I have to go with Edwards. Lafell will touch the ball more, but I think Edwards is really going to help out at KR and that's going to have a big impact on this team. If Moore get traded or fails, then my pick is Clausen. Even if the kid seems like a bit of a pretentious fratboy douchebag, he will do well in the NFL.

None will have much of an impact this season. Receivers not drafted in the first round do nothing their first years and Clausen/Pike probably won't play. Norwood will be a player, but he's going to find it hard to find the field with as deep as we are at linebacker.

Being able to rotate in at SLB or DE should get Norwood some field time on pass plays. Hopefully (knock on wood) TD's injury doesn't return and we don't need to count on him to play full time though. I agree that none of the rookies will have too huge of an impact, which is another reason why I chose Edwards for the KR. Of course, last year I wouldn't have thought Martin or Captain would have as much impact as they did, and I was surprised by how little impact Goodson had after being so highly touted in the offseason. This team is indeed very deep at many positions on defense, but there should be a lot of rotation in "The Committee" this year.

Regardless whether any of them make an impact, who do you think will have the best season out of the rookie class though?

This is an interesting question. Edwards may have drawn the most attention but his lack of bulk will hurt him once things become more physical. I'll have to wait and see how he reacts to bump and run, getting smashed by a safety etc.

My pick right now would be LaFell just because he seems to have the biggest chance of starting. My dark horse is Pugh just because he could win a safety spot.

I think Greg Hardy was a steal of the draft and since hes not going to be starting he will be healthier than hes ever been and playing at full speed as a situational pass rusher. I think that along with coach Baker is going to make this kid have the best rookie season.

Yeah that Jonny Knox really sucked last year. Fail.

Edwards has a shot to be a really good player. If he continues the way he has so far in Camp I might forget all about what we gave up for him.

..Receivers not drafted in the first round do nothing their first years ...

Not trying to be funny, but you need to tell that to DeSean Jackson, or even Johnny Knox (who would have done better if Cutler hadn't had tunnel vision, and if Knox hadn't been injured)). Tell that to Austin Collie. Now I could probably go on. Granted, I suppose that these players weren't world beaters, but they did do something. They made key plays. To say they do "nothing" in their first "years" is inaccurate. "To say they do "nothing" in their first "year" is inaccurate. It depends on the receiver, the QBs and the coaches (to be more prolific and creative in their thinking).

Hearing our FO (well, Hurney) say that they want more balance in our offense this year, I not only expect LaFell to make key plays, but Edwards as well.
