but walter jones was an amazing athlete in his time. i'm hoping jeff otah grows up to be just like him... but without the injuries.

amazing athlete is an understatement man. check out this stat:

"On 5,703 pass attempts over 13 seasons, according to coaches stats, Walter Jones was called for holding 9 times and surrendered 23 sacks."

He is one of, if not the greatest left tackle of all time.

Let's hope that another LT is known for being that great.

Its amazing how a great o-line can make an average back like Alexander look like a pro bowl running back.

So true...Starts in the trenches, bruh.

I think Alexander was pretty good in his own right.

What happened in a year? I thought so too but he went from dormant to dominant to doormat in no time flat.

yeah I had a chance to go to the 05 NFC champ, and I'm glad I didn't I would have winded up paying $400 for a ticket to see us get badly beat, but its a little better we were in the super bowl 2 years before, if it weren't for that fact, think about how much more the memory of this game would haunt us

Walter Jones was all over sports radio up here today, they are even calling it Walter Jones Day etc... but the interviews were cool, the reporter state that Holmgren called Jones the best player he ever coached, and that's impressive, it would great if Otah got as good as Jones, but Otah is already just as good in the run game Jones seemed like the type that his pass protection is what stood out the most, they said today he only gave up 23 sacks I believe it was in 13 years in the NFL, and only got a holding penalty once every 20 games

    • i'm a fan of Leon Bridges anyways, but this song i can't get enough of. nice groove.
    • Yeah we're hoping for a lot to go our way in the draft as far as runs on certain positions after we select and how the board falls prior to our 1st selection. I think it will be really hard if we take TMAC, but i don't see a realistic way of getting a WR1 other than drafting TMAC. Its rough. But this is the situation we find ourselves in after years of bad drafting, bad trades, and poor cap management. IF we take TMAC we gotta hope and pray a run on DL doesn't happen tail end of first/beginning of 2nd. Tough situation, but im excited to see how we address this off-season.
    • Sometimes people say things during this time of year to keep from tipping their hands, but I believe Morgan.  As I look at the offseason in terms of free agency and the draft, I see any path to acquiring an elite WR as either expensive or awkward.  In the draft, taking a WR on days 1 and 2 means you may be overlooking the boatload of talent in areas of need---like edge and DE/DT.  There will be good edge / DL players coming off the board in early round 3, in my view.  We will probably sign a free agent or two, but that means we may still need to draft a NT, DE, and an Edge player--and from what I can tell, these are your best players if the draft goes like I think it will.  If TMac is there, I think you have to take him, but it makes filling the needs at DL, Edge, S, etc. much more difficult. Morgan has a very tough job if you consider the long term--he needs to think about the Bryce contract in two years and not back load or extend too many contracts.  Winning in the NFL is more about math than anyone realizes.  Morgan wants "dawgs" and this draft has them.
