No truer statement has ever been made. If you don't think you can stop him, you might as well just give up and quit. And while no individual is going to stop Smitty, a well designed defensive scheme can.

Bottom line, he was only stating a belief in himself and his team. Nothing in this statement is in any way negative toward Smith, or discredits his ability or accomplishments. In fact, Hood seems to be talking about himself and his team and only using Smitty as context. IMO, anyone seeing BB material in this statement is reading way too much into it…and I don’t think Smitty is that desperate for something to get him motivated.

As much as we all know this isn't possible...THAT is how I want my secondary to feel and act. I don't want them crying and being afraid of Larry Fitzgerald! More power to Hood for feeling that way. Too bad he can't actually do it though. Slip up not found. Smitty expects his opposition to feel that way.

I love how all the Cards fan think that DRC is going to shut down Steve Smith...This is clearly wishful thinking on their part. It's common knowledge that no one man (or two men, for that matter) can "shut down" Steve Smith.

This game needs to get here so the trash talk can stop.

Good lord. One or more of the Cards fans still call Steve "Stephaine". Those kind of fans are stupid & don't know how to talk smack. I would love to see them come to BoA & say it to him. I'm sure they will poo in their pants if they do see him approaching for their dumbass name call to him.

And Hood is getting too cocky. Who is he anyway? That kind of guy can't stop Smitty. Even if you stop Smitty on one play, you're not going to keep it up. Smitty will keep making you pay if you dare.

Whats funny is reading that cards thread and many others most of them seem to assume that steve smith is our only offensive weapon. They are in for a rude awakening.
