Whats with all the Clausen hate??!!

I was referring to this point.

As for throwing it off his back foot, sure, that is not what you ideally want, but I also don't think it was that big a deal. He didn't do it when he was making a throw that required accuracy and touch, or if he needed to put some zip on the ball. In fact, this past year, he had a harder time throwing it off his back foot since that was the foot in which his big toe had two torn ligaments. Regardless, I've seen him make enough throws that I don't see this as a problem at all.

Ahh, my fault. The under-throwing comment was in reference to throwing off his back foot. Should have made that clearer. Like I said, he definitely improved upon it this year as opposed to his previous season, which is good. And I understand he was going through a toe injury which made it harder. So hopefully he works on that. And hopefully when he does drive off his rear foot he doesn't get so low. He needs to stand strong in the pocket.

Um, Fox is playing rookies (or first time starters) all over the place this season. Don't get me wrong, Moore starts, but there is no downside to Clausen starting because IMHO, they are not fielding a team that has any chance of making it to the Super Bowl. If you want to go young and build up a dynasty..awesome...I'd rather Clausen lead it than Moore if he can.

I get that but at QB? He didn't even want to play Moore with 3 yrs experience with Jake the turnover machine as his #1 option. He has never had a problem playing rooks on D or on oline but when you start talking about the O skill positions (QB, WR, RB) he does have a major biased towards vets.

Even Jonathan Crompton knows Clausen is a good QB...and lightyears better than he is.

You'll never hear me argue that Crompton is a good quarterback. It took a genius offensive coordinator (Drew Brees's old QB coach) to figure out how to make him productive in the SEC.

I wasn't actually trying to slam on Jimmy Clausen by posting that video. I just thought it was embarrassing for any and all Notre Dame fans.

I was upset that Tennessee didn't get Jimmy Clausen after we had been through so many years with Casey and Rick.

As long as he keeps his hair short, and he focuses on football instead of being a rockstar, I think he'll do really well in Carolina.

I'm not so sure why people feel Clausen is going to start over Moore.

You're all butt-hurt over a situation that hasn't happened.

Sure, Clausen has more potential than Moore, but the kid needs AT LEAST a year to sit and learn.

All of this over-dramatic response about Fox being an idiot needs to chill a bit. Let poo develop before you all swear your assumptions are facts.

I like what I am hearing here.

It seems most of us are confident and happy with our qb depth. Has this ever been the case??!! Its so nice to be excited to watch all 4 qbs playing in preseason and not be bitching about Jake Delhomme. I am such a happy fan right now.

Fox job will depend on this season. He will start who he feels the team has the best chance to win.

To play Devils advocate..... a lot of people thought his job was on the line last season and he didn't play the QB that gave the Panthers the best chance to win.

From what I have seen there are people being little bitches on both sides. I have seen people even result to things like "Well Moore didnt win when it mattered so he sucks" or "Jclaw sucks cause he is an asshole". Nether of these arguments mean squat but people are defending them to the death. The fact is the better QB will win. Still Moore or Clausen could throw for 50 TDs this year and someone would find a reason to bitch about them.

Everyone is forgetting that Fox may not WANT to be here any longer.

He may have Pepitis.

So say he doesnt. There would be no reason he would play the player he "likes" because its not like he would stay with the guy another year.

If Fox does great this year, he'll get a sweet contract, wether here or elsewhere. So it would make sence to play the player who he belives gives the best chance to win.
