I see this...so much harder to fill all the needs before free agency--so you have to enter the draft looking at 3 maybe 4.  Hunter-no brainer,. Tuimoloau--love him, probably better than Sawyer, but not as well known, Higgins--will be a good pro in time, Wilson--I would have probably picked between T and C here--depth and competition in both cases.   Rourke--gonna be a pro starter in 3 years; mark my words--Briningstool is a solid TE--overlooked in Clemson; and Collins is a steal at 228.  Good draft.

I'm dying to know how the first 7 picks of this draft went that Hunter fell all the way to 8.

He's still not on my draft board for a variety of reasons, but there is no way in hell that he gets passed up by 7 teams

Can’t remember, but I almost restarted that mock right then since I agree with you. I like how the rest of it went though.

Higgins reminds me if Michael Pittman a bit.

I would like to see a DT, DE, LB or CB in the 1st round. And then one of the remaining picked in the next few rounds. BPA, the who doesn't matter. I hope they don't take a WR in the 1st, unless they moved back in the 1st and got more 2nd or 3rd round picks.

I’d go BPA just about regardless of position. Especially if it’s a defensive player.

Good strategy. I try to have positions buckets. Like two or three positions in a particular round. Trying to combo need and bpa.

    • It's how the golden team stays up though. They are having a "down year" for their standard of play and still 15-2. Some of that is just knowing how to win. A lot of it is help in key moments. We've all seen this in the past 4 years. You can show me some stats, but it doesn't pass the eye test for me
    • Two simple reasons, one I get, one makes no sense to me The easy one is Tom Brady.  It's hard to say everything he touches doesn't find a way to work out, so getting to work on building out an NFL team with him, I can see the appeal to that. The other is job security, which in a vacuum, I do get, but not in this particular instance.  They're selling him on "we know this roster is a mess, we want YOU to come here and build this team out as you see fit and we're going to give you more than enough time to see it through since we know it's not a 1 year fix. Which sure, it makes sense given how quickly so many teams move on from HC's if they don't have immediate success, particularly with the types of jobs people expected Johnson to be looking at.  As everyone expected him to take over a team with an established QB and more ready to compete right away, the ones who aren't going to give you forever to become a winning team. However, I still think the Raiders are the absolute wrong team to take that approach with if you're a HC candidate, because of the division.  You have maybe the next GOAT, another Top 10 QB, and a very promising looking rookie to make the best QB division in the league.  Then you have one of the best HC's of all time (who even if he doesn't have too many years left, they'll still have Mahomes there), as well as a former SB winner and offensive "genius" and a NCAA NC who has taken an NFL team to a SB as well, to make the best HC division in the league. Even if they give you time to build out the franchise, good luck putting a consistent contender together in a division that has 3 teams looking like they are all set up for long term sustained success.
