SI Say Carolina has the #1..

I thought we had a pretty decent defense. If anything, it looked worse because of the offense (I realize that's your point ;) ).

The defense was poor against the run especially early. Then you had games where the Eagles had almost as many points on the board as they did passing yards because we spotted them a bunch due to turnovers. But yeah the defense certainly wasn't helped by the offense at all. I expected the offense to win some games until the defense kicked in. But that surely didn't happen. In fact the same thing is going to have to happen this year as well.

Last year the Defense was learning a new defensive scheme. Coupled with Turnovers galore we were sunk.

But at the end of the year our D was firing on all cylinders I expect that to continue. If Moore can protect the ball then we have a good chance in all of the first 4 games.

Just to play devil's advocate; if we had an 'x' factor that contributed to the slow start defensively last year (new scheme), do we now not have another 'x' factor (new starters) that could also contribute to a slow start this season?

true, i am in agreement that it took awile to learn the new scheme. but, we are now starting a DL that is 75% new and add new starting LB's and DB's, it's pretty much back to new guys learning the same scheme for the first time. were starting off almost in the same position as last season.

No matter what I think we are in a good position. There is never anything bad about having two young and very talented QBs.

I will say that the only edge I give to Moore is experience. I think Clausen's upside is tremendous. I just think that he gets how to play the position.

With our running game I truly believe that the only QB in the league that could struggle would be Delhomme.

God help me, I agree with you. I don't know how anybody can say that Clausen will be a bust, based on what he's done on the football field.

If Moore starts, and looking at our first 4 games, Giants, Bucs, Bengals, and Saints, It is quite possible we could go 1-3. obviously if we have a winning record, the point is moot but, if we did start 1-3, could we see Clausen in week 5 against the Bears?

Would 1-3 be "enough"?

Gave u pie by mistake. Damn cell phone :P
