Do I expect the Panthers to be a Super Bowl contender in 2010? Not really, but I didn't expect that before the cuts, FA and the draft. Richardson, Hurney, Fox or whoever is orchastrating this plan is doing so with an eye to the future. And I'm okay with that.

However, just because they are not trying to build a Super Bowl team this offseason, as they have tried to do in the past, doesn't mean this team will go 1-15. With young players you never know what exactly you are getting. It could end up that this team is the most talented and leadership filled team in the league. Or they could struggle the entire season. But there is just no way of knowing either way at this point in time and that is what frustrates most people.

I think like with most things in life, there is a reasonable place between the "sky is falling crowd" and the "front office is perfect and this team will be great crowd".

I think 8-8 sounds good. Maybe slightly better or worse. Just depends on what the opponents turn out to be.....the 2010 team won't have the talent on D yet to make a push into the playoffs.

Detroit has twice as many veterans as we do. All veterans are not leaders and just having them there doesn't guarantee a winning season. But a lack of them like we have now increases the chances that if things gets tough we might fold our tents like many young teams do.

You are exactly right. It won't be a surprise for some people. Half of the people expect the Panthers to do good (Including me) and the other half expect them to do bad (I'm assuming you as well).

I will be willing to ear crow if the Panthers fail this season. I am a man and I stand behind what I say unlike some people on the Huddle. I am just wondering if the panthers makes the playoffs, I wonder if all the doom and gloom folks that criticize this FO day in and day will eat crow.

What I'm getting from most of the fans posting the last few days is, martin can't be a leader. None of our younng guys are leaders...but let's hope they step up.

That is stupid. Beason is a leader, and has been leading since halfway through his rookie season. we have other young guys on the team that can and lead. they haven't needed to step up pror...but now they will.

Yes, the team is changing. Getting younger, and new lplayers will step up to lead along side of beason, williams, and smith.

One more think..this team needed some change...think most will agree. Cept now, the majority is freakin' out due to the changes.

They are just doing some things that I have been wanting them to do for a while. I was/am ready for some change.

I dont think that we will be great this season.

With all the young guns playing this season is a huge unknown. If everything goes right I can see 10-6 but that is overly optimistic.

Also, Godfrey wasn't as bad as people say he was, and Harris isn't as great as people say he was.
