Welcome Jamar Williams

Why is everyone saying he has been a back up for 5 years, it's plan lies, even my initial post shows when he has been in the league.

In addition to this, Anderson was a complete waste of a roster spot before this season, so don't make him out to be more than he is.

I am not saying Williams will revolutionise any LB spot, but based on his production, he is at least the equal of Anderson and has in fact produced more in less opportunities.

Some people just love to be irrational and fly off the handle. Some even start lying to further convince themselves.

The value was bad because the league knew we were trying to shop him, so most expected us to cut him. We took what we got. No 2nd rounders, no 3rd, 4th, 5th or worse were offered, this is as good as we could get.

The simple fact that Harris was ahead of the game in announcing the trade shows he knew it was in the pipeline all along. How many times has a player announced a trade?! Face it, he quite likely was the main instigator in this trade.

Sounds like Beason's backup to me. I just hope this doesn't have anything to do with Davis' recovery or the Panthers way of having a backup plan should we fail to resign him. Best case scenario is that he is Anderson replacement.

And Harris was an integral part of our defense, but weren't we complaining that Martin should see more playing time and we should find a way to put all our playmaker on the field at once. Some even went as far as suggesting to take Harris out on passing downs. Well, you guys got it and still complain. I hate to see Harris go also but this is the NFL. Players come and go so live with it.

He can only play WLB we have a WLB remeber T Davis. He is another special team pick.

Anderson is already ahead of him because he has been on the team and knows the system. Who are you his agent????

We don't like the compensation for what we gave them. However you feel or however you try to defend this Chris Harris was a starter and a leader this guy was a back-up and special teamer . With only a 2 year differance in age No way in hell should this have been a 1 for 1 trade we should have atleast got a 5th or 6th pick with Williams. Now we do have more depht at LB and (whoo Hooooo) more special teamers. We have a ? at safety and need another young player too step up with little depht behind him. Bad deal plain and simple.

You really are an idiot aren't you.

We had been trying to shop him since he came out with his tweets on the cuts. That is around 2 months of shopping him around, with no takers.

I know, you know and the FO knows that he is worth more, but when they were likely going to let him go for nothing, it was obviously better to get SOMETHING in return.

Jamar has played SLB for the Bears just as much as he has played WLB, in addition when he was coming out MLB was seen as his most suited position. He is not 'just a special teams pick' he has started a LB in this league and done well with his opportunities. He is likely our 4th or 5th line backer in rotation and I imagine he sees more playing time than Norwood does on most downs (bar pass rushing downs). He could bomb, but he has produced far more than you want to accept.

Anderson knows our system, so yes he is a little ahead. The point is, Anderson, up until this last season, was a nothing player. However changing the scheme to free up the WLB suddenly coincides with his increase in performance. Frankly I doubt the talent of Anderson and see him as just getting an opportunity in a position that gets chances, he also did not play anywhere nearly as well as Davis or what most people would have you believe. If you are pissed because you THINK Jamar can only play one position, well then you need to take your blinkers off, Anderson is a WLB and that is it.

You really need to just forget about the value of the trade. It was all we could get for a guy we wanted to move on. I expect most were just waiting for us to cut him anyways, hence the lack of offers. You also need to just give this guy a chance, he has done well when he has been given the chance and has rarely performed poorly. Anderson is not as good as you think, so any competition in there is a good thing. Senn, Ivy etc are ACTUALLY special teamers, so we only have 5 recognised linebackers before now.

He will back-up Davis. I like that he has played all three LB positions. That type of versatility is very welcome.

Bump that!

We generally do something stupid at least twice a season. I consider this could possibly be one of them.
