this is by far the dumbest move ever!!! harris was a leader and a good ass player for us...i cant believe hes on the bears again and we get jamar nobody knows me williams...what the f**k.. richardson is a cheapass old pile of poo and he is like al davis now..hes not thinking with his head on his shoulders. this is worse than giving julius away for free. this season is now up in the air.. and im being optimistic but panthers will be 6-10 this season. i can already see the defense stuggling early on jus like last year when harris was out with an injury. this is gonna hurt us in the long run

Allow me to help some of you more inept posters out.

Harris is a pretty big liability in coverage. We play in a division with the Saints and Falcons. Two teams with good QB's that like to throw the ball around. Meeks D is built on smaller faster players getting to the ball quicker. I hate to say it but Harris has never ran anyone down. If Sam Baker recovered a fumble and was running it in for a TD and Harris was in pursuit, he would score.

Martin showed a ton of promise last year, Godfrey was improved after he came back from injury. There was a conundrum about what to do with them. Harris has been outspoken and is on the decline, hence he was released. Say what you want about JR, but if I am paying someone millions of dollars a year, I don't care if they like me or not but don't go out into public and trash me.

Harris' first year with us was outstanding, since then there has been nothing spectacular about him at all. I will miss him because he was fun to watch when he would lay the wood every now and again. He was not so much fun to watch when the opposing team was bombing away and Harris was not even in the screen.

I really don't think this is the end of the world. With Harris being outspoken and us in a youth movement there is no room for malcontents. That poo can spread like wildfire in a young lockerroom. I see this move as a plus, we always get the best part of the deal out of the Bears.

I liked harris a lot but oh well.

Harris brought hard hits and leadership, but both Godfrey and Martin played well.. they have more range than Harris and if Godfrey can help on run support, then we aren't missing anything.

I guess you missed the part where I posted the quote saying that the Williams/Harris deal was done? My post was alluding to that. I thought it was pretty obvious what I was talking about, by adding "instead of going man for man".
