The Bears have a new safety to pair with rookie Major Wright.

Actually, it's an old safety.

Chris Harris announced on his Twitter account that he expects to rejoin the team that drafted him in the sixth round in 2005 in a trade that could involve one of the team's veteran linebackers or a safety. The Bears and Carolina Panther have yet to announce a transaction.

"It hasn't been official," Harris told the Tribune. "But I will be with the Bears soon. It's about to happen and I am excited, man. This is great."

Sad to see CH go if this is true, but for real, Bitching isn't going to make the FO retract their trade. I guess all we can do is hope for good compensation and Godfrey and Martin step up and play their asses off.

yeah def. a lil bit over reacting. I think Godfrey showed improvement after he came back from his injury. Though he hasnt always taken the best angles when tackling I think he will continue to improve and showed late last year that he can make some big hits i.e.Patriots game

Godfrey can't cover nor make open field tackles. He has proven that over his short career. He had some FFs that were big - but showed little legit improvement. Panther fans w/ homer goggles on need to wake up. 3 plays and people act like it erases two years of him overall being horrific.

They are going to make sure Fox can't win w/ this defense.

dude, are you seriously saying you won't settle for anything less than 3 backups at linebacker who are starting quality? no team is stacked like that. we have plenty of other linebackers on the team. i'm sure one can be the 3rd backup. what the hell are the chances all 3 starting linebackers would go down at one time? we have plenty of depth, more than most teams.
