So all you people on here dissing Godfrey must not have watched the last part of the season, or have completely disregarded that he got ALOT better after coming back from his injury.

he didn't get a lot better. His coverage was still horrible and his open field tackling was still horrible.

Don't mistake being involved in big plays for actually being better fundamentally. Godfrey stinks.

You can't dictate how value at positions of need will fall into your laps, but you can dictate how you react when they do...

Well it does not take a formula to tell what our needs are but I still think LB was not are biggest need

Amazing how some people on the board are pack dog, salivating to support every descision the front office makes.

Or you have the other end of the spectrum where people think that if our front office acted more like their Madden franchise, we would have a bazillion Super Bowls.

A lot of over reacting. I love harris too. He was a very phsyical and vocal leader. That being said..our starting safeties just got more talented.

uh, no. godfrey tackles like a cornerback and covers like a linebacker. ya, he did well after coming back from the injury, but you people are acting like his recovery involved fairy dust being sprinkled on him. maybe he was just upping his play because he knew sherrod martin was biting at his heels to take his job. who is going to take his job if he's the starting strong safety? he has no motivation. i don't know why he got better, but i'd hardly bank on it sticking.

He's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but the fact is he did come back playing better and will only continue to improve. This is what you call "upside".

I ****** hate the Chicago Bears they are always creeping on the Panthers..... they are like that one dude who follows you around everywhere and wants to always hang out with you and do the same things you do, but secretly you hate him because he is creepy.....

      Not sure why anybody who has watched the turn around thinks he doesn't have it.  Seems a lot of people are dismissing just how incredible it is that he has turned it around.  Most would have mailed it in.
