It's hard to "fix" guys without a good veteran presence around and the Panthers haven't had that since the old guard left (Keuchly, Olsen, Cam, etc.).

Nah. He stayed in Carolina longer than any other team this year. Last year. Steelers and Baltimore have great vet presence and coaches. DJ is just... different.

Ravens just claimed him on wavers again....to get a comp pic for him if he signs elsewhere in offseason

They won't come anywhere near getting a comp pick with his playing time or contract.

Ravens just making sure no other playoff team picks him up to get intel of their offense. I don't think they're being petty or planning to get comp picks.

Probably CTE or undiagnosed bi-polar

maybe.  The NFL like every other aspect of society is also just simplistically filled with it's own share of bad people you don't want working for you.....and eventually how good you are with a football in your hands doesn't trump everything.  Every idiot in the NFL isn't a CTE victim that isn't right.

I do agree some team will pick him up. He's too talented not to.

I just don't think the Ravens picked him up because of that. They're just trying to make sure none of their playoff/Super Bowl opponents use him just to get an advantage on their offense. They're a well run organization. I don't think they really care about a comp pick for DJ.

    • Again, why is this so hard to understand... 40 time does not equal game speed.   The 40 yard dash is the most antiquated tool to analyze draft prospects, it's more based on how quickly you're able to get out of the blocks, a position no WR (or even any other player) is ever set up in, than actual speed. I'm not even saying he'll run that slow, as I think he breaks 4.5 anyways, but if you watch his game tape and you think he runs a 4.6 type of speed, then you're just lying to yourself to sell your own narrative of what you want to believe. In short, yes, speed is important, but no, the 40 time is not.  If any GM is basing their decision of a player on their 40 time more than 3 years worth of game tape, then they deserve to be fired for that alone.
    • I see this...so much harder to fill all the needs before free agency--so you have to enter the draft looking at 3 maybe 4.  Hunter-no brainer,. Tuimoloau--love him, probably better than Sawyer, but not as well known, Higgins--will be a good pro in time, Wilson--I would have probably picked between T and C here--depth and competition in both cases.   Rourke--gonna be a pro starter in 3 years; mark my words--Briningstool is a solid TE--overlooked in Clemson; and Collins is a steal at 228.  Good draft.
    • I'm dying to know how the first 7 picks of this draft went that Hunter fell all the way to 8. He's still not on my draft board for a variety of reasons, but there is no way in hell that he gets passed up by 7 teams
