Bobcats offseason.... What to do????

This core group can really do some damage. I wouldn't make any major changes. We do need to shed some weight though. We really need a three point specialist. That one guy you let jack up treys all game long (anybody else miss Matt Carroll?).

I like Boris (who would make a good 3 IMO) but I would have sat him in favor of Tyrus a long time ago, probably as soon as Ty got his # assigned. I'd even think about not even worrying about a PF. I'd start Tyrus and groom Ajinca to back him up as well as Derrick Brown.

We kinda got the old Chicago Bulls three headed center thing going on with Jordan and Pippen being played by Jax and GW. We just need Steve Kerr now.

My personal feeling about our current players.

Players that I want to be on the roster next year

Tyrus Thomas

Gerald Wallace

DJ Augustin

Stephen Jackson

Derrick Brown

Gerald Henderson

Players that I wouldn't mind seeing on the roster

Stephen Graham

Nazr Mohammed

Tyson Chandler

And the others I could care less.

Diaw and Felton have to go. Felton is a clutch shooter and that's about it. Wallace and Jackson are not good enough offensive players to set up an offense. The Bobcats need a real PG who gets the big men involved and makes things easier for everyone.

The offense was horrendous and I mainly credit that to Felton and Diaw.

I think someone mentioned we didn't have a draft pick this year...sooo i went and checked. And according to numerous mock draft sites we have traded both our draft picks for this coming draft. Our first rounder went to Minnnesota and our second rounder to Pheonix (Jason Richardson deal). Maybe we unload a few guys before the draft to get some picks. All the drafts have John Wall going to New Jersey...him and Devin Harris can't play the same position if your feeling my hint..aka we should go after Harris if all else fails.

Going after CP3 and Harris is all well and good but the Bobcats don't have anything anyone else would want outside of Crash and maybe DJ. I don't think the Cats will have any real capspace to work with and no stars want to sign with the Cats, so where is tat "star" going to come from? We have no draft picks and if we did they would be wasted.

This is probably true.... thats why I am concerned about the next 3-4 years for the bobcats. I think were gonna be stuck between the elite teams... and the garbage team.... hovering around 500.

Not exactly true. We have expiring contracts in Nazr/Chandler and Diaw could still be useful.

What I would like to see happen:

Trade Nazr + next year's 1st or 2nd round + Felton to the Hornets and pick up CP3. I think you could get him at a bargain since Collison is playing at such a good level.

Let Larry Brown go, retire, whatever he wants to do, but free up that head coaching job. Let Doc Rivers come down like he has been hinting at, and let him take over the job.

Also, sign Ray Allen, who can opt out of his contract this season, and I believe wherever Doc Rivers goes, Ray Allen would think highly about going.

Re-sign Tyson Chandler. We've seen the level he can play at when he is actually paired with Chris Paul, it's unbelievable.

The start of the season, I would like the line-up to look something awesome like this:

PG - Chris Paul ()/DJ Augustin

SG - Ray Allen/Larry Hughes/Gerald Henderson

SF - Stephen Jackson/Gerald Wallace/Stephen Graham

PF - Tyrus Thomas/Boris Diaw/Stephen Graham

C - Tyson Chandler/Theo Ratliff/Alexis Ajinca

Sixth Man - Gerald Wallace

And before anyone gets upset with the move to put Gerald Wallace at the Sixth Man, I give you this. He doesn't have the pure shooting/jump-shot ability of Stephen Jackson, we seen that from his inability to put in the 3. So, you move him to Sixth Man, and let him play his heart out. Bring that fire to the bench, making sure everyone notices when their second team is on the court.

Also, if you give Gerald 23 minutes and Stephen Jackson 25 minutes, you cut both of their times in half by the end of the season. That way, they won't have all of the miles on them by the time you hit the playoffs.

EDIT: I added in the PPG/RPG/APG for each player in the starting line-up, and the sixth man, to see what the total was.

PG - Chris Paul (18/4/10)

SG - Ray Allen (16/3/3)

SF - Stephen Jackson (21/5/4)

PF - Tyrus Thomas (10/6/1)

C - Tyson Chandler (7/6/0)

Sixth Man - Gerald Wallace (18/10/2)

That puts you at 90ppg/34rpg/20apg.

That's just from the first six.

What I'd like to see happen:

1. Sign LeBron...I mean that article in the NY Times explains why he needs to be in Charlotte.

2. Trade for CP3. Since LeBron signed with the team, Crash could be traded in a package to the Hornets.

3. Change the team name to the Knights. I mean now that we have King James in the Queen City.

4. Have us fans try to figure out who sold their soul to the Devil in order to make the above happen.

PG-Paul

SG-Jackson

SF-James

PF-Thomas

C- Chandler

Don't we still have the MLE?

Kyle Korver, or J.J. Redick (although the Hole fans in our fanbase would boo him even if he played on our team) would be ideal.

Also Flip Murray holds no ill will and is on record saying he'd love to come back next season!
