Bobcats offseason.... What to do????

sitting here watching Jennings really shows how much we need a pg and the difference a great pg can bring to a team.

Just like a great QB makes receivers look good, a great PG makes wings and big men look good. We lack a PG that has grasp of the offense and gets the ball to our guys in their sweet spots. Its the reason why our guys Jax, G-Force, etc do so much iso one on one stuff at the end of the shot clock.

I wouldn't mind having Bayless, kid is sick.

He is young and has gotten a chance to start and play solid min. with Roy on the bench hurt. You would think he would want to go to place where he can start. If we brought him to charlotte, we could give him that chance and in return he could give us a great player. He could put down roots here, i think he is that good of player. Somewhat of a franchise guard. Put him with g-force and a new pg and tyrus and we have ourselves a good mix...i think.

I agree with you 100%.... If we had a Great PG, with Jax and G-Force they would look a lot better, and the team would be in better shape... Pair them with a Deron Williams, D. Rose, Maybe even a John wall... instantly our team improves greatly.... only thing is it's hard to get these kind of players.... Usually they are drafted, and usually near the top of the draft. Right now I don't see the bobcats ever being in that position....

This is why I am worried about our future. It's like we know what we need to get better, but there's not really away to achieve it....Without getting it done were stuck in this state of mediocrity like other teams in the east has been....

First thing I do, change the name to Flight. :P

Secondly, I let Felton walk, or sign him to a cheap contract, and then try to shop him around the NBA.

Third, I go for CP3. I also give Tyrus Thomas a longer contract, so that we could keep him on our team for some years to come. I really like him, and think he has huge upside. That way, you have a corner stone PG with CP3, and you have a future solid PF, who could possible be a star one day in TT.

Fourth, I start looking for a coach. Larry Brown is either leaving this year, or next, no matter what he tells the media. So, you need to start looking for his heir apparent, whether that is Roy Williams or not is yet to be unseen.

Here is an idea. Lets say the Nets win the lottery...and draft John Wall. He is supposed to be the truth. That gives the Nets two legit pg in Devin Harris and John Wall. What if the bobcats traded to get Harris? That would give us Harris, Jax, Wallace, Tyrus (assuming we do something with diaw to get harris) and a center. The center can come through the draft of possibly chandler depending on if we want to resign him (for cheap).

On WBTV 3 (Charlotte) Point After With D & D the other week a caller called in and asked the panel if they thought MJ would try and improve the team in the off-season and all of them said given some trades Jax, TT, etc that yes that if he tries to improve the team during the season then he def. will in the off-season we can expect that. However at what level I don't know, isn't our cap at level where we can't sign a star to any kind of satisfying deal?

One thing I'd like to see us do with this year's 2nd round pick (I think we have one still) is draft Da'Sean Butler out of West Virginia, he would have been a high pick but lots think he will go undrafted because of that freak injury in the FF, I think we should give him a chance!

Maybe. I watched that injury live, and it looked pretty intense. =/

But, I don't know about injuries, or healing, or rehabbing and all of that, so I'm not sure. What I can say though, is this might not be a bad idea. Then, sign him, and loan him out to a D-League team, and see what he is capable of, and if his leg truly can hold up.

Offer Felton nothing higher than 2.5 million (He is not getting the MLE I guarantee that) resign TT, let Tyson walk (IIRC, he's on his last year) let the one year players go ie: Theo, Larry, Stephen Graham.

Bobcats gotta get somebody big this offseason, they cannot go into next season without a new big-time scorer It's a damn shame the hawks locked up Crawford because he would be ideal.

Get another PF to back up TT, I personally believe Tyrus is ready to start.

Package Nazr/Diaw/Felts(if he is signed)/Jackson/Tyson/Diop everybody on this team is expendable that's not named Wallace,DJ, and Tyrus.

Look into a new coach, it's apparent Larry's gonna leave especially after this playoff series.

You can't "let Tyson walk" he's his choice, he has a player option and since I doubt any other team in the league will want to pay him 10 or 11 mill he's probably going to sit here. It's his choice, not ours, unless we buy out or something.

And to the person who asked if we do not like Nazr, that's not really the point, he's one of the few value chips we have for trading since he has an expiring contract and he can actually provide something to a team.

The only reasons CP3, I think, could be available is because Collison played better than CP3 and surprised everyone and Shinn would want to clear as much money off the books as he can to sell the team. So getting rid of CP3's contract and loading up on expiring contracts would help.

Other than that, I'm sure there's some "mid-range" players we can grab or trade for too. But IMO, the CP3 deal is the only way we're adding a high calibre player for next year.

adding cp3 would be amazing!!! dream come true really he is a stud that can open everyone up for easy dunks and open shots.... id give em diaw and whatevr expiring contracts theyd want for him.... whether it be tyson or naz then signing a pure 3 pt shooter is a must.... like a korver, morrow, wafer type we have to so it can open lanes for wallace an jack, plus id like to see more min for Derrick brown, he is another gerald in the making....

ideal roster:

paul, DJ

jack, hendo (pure shooter)

wallace, brown

tyrus (think he can become a star)

tyson, theo (we should resign him as a backup tho) Ajinca (he has gotten quite a bit bigger and i think will be able to handle some backup min next yr)

i know wallace doesnt and brown dont like to play at PF but i think if we had paul an u ran brown or wallace at pf some wit tyrus at C it would still offers good rebounding with shotblockn and crazy speed to run the floor.....

people all bitch about pickn ajinca, but i love pickn players that have that potential to be a star if u keep pickn role players all u get is average every yr
