Also the Edwards pick was a reach but I do like him. If Lefevour fell to the 6th and guys like Tate fell to the 2nd I just can't see a QB/WR project wouldn't have lasted to at least our 4th probably our 6th.

Which is exactly why he probably wouldn't have fallen. Big name guys were plunging down boards left and right, while smaller guys were getting snatched. I highly doubt the Panthers would have gone to the extremes they did to get Edwards if they weren't sure he wasn't going to get picked by the fourth round. I have a lot of faith in the Panthers FO when it comes to the draft and I think that they of all people know that draft picks are crucial to building a team's success.

I honestly can't say I dislike any of our picks because none of them have had the time to prove themselves for better or worse. I learned this the hard way after being pissed when we drafted Stewart, and praising the gods after we drafted Jarett. You really just don't know how a player will perform at the next level until they get out there and do it.

I have a policy against hating late round picks. They'll be lucky to even make the roster, why would I get pissed over a late round pick? There's like no risk in gambling here.

I think the most hated picks in general must be Edwards and Clausen. Clausen for more biased reasons tbh and Edwards because it's a real risk. Edwards is the only move that really made me go WTF with the panthers.

late round picks make the team all the time ... our nickelback was a 7th round pick. the probable starter at right guard this year was a 7th round pick. our primary backup at offensive tackle was a 7th round pick. dante rosario and jeff king were both 5th round picks and they get a lot of playing time.

My point is that the risk is minimal. If you fug up in the 6th round, you really wouldn't think about it. If you fug up in the second, it could bite you in the ass. I'm fine with BPA in the later rounds and I'm definitely not gonna make a fuss over drafting another QB or multiple corners so late in the draft. As far as I'm concerned, if your late picks are your worse picks then you've had a pretty good draft.

Again, I was more curious who you folks had heard more criticism of at this point, not who you hated the most personally.

But this is fun too.

FWIW, me and you emphatically agree with regards to personally liking the picks.

you give me way too much credit. i don't read things, i make snap judgments on thread titles.

    • I wouldn't root for any of these big market teams if you paid me. I am thrilled the lowly Hornets embarrassed them in their own city. That's the absolute least they deserve.
