Does Armanti Edwards = WildCat

Now that we have Armanti Edwards - do we run the Wildcat more with Armanti taking the snaps?

Not necessarily.

The Saints blew up Miami's wildcat by blitzing every time they went to that formation (something they like to do anyway). It was pretty effective.

Given that the team who's had the most success against it is a division rival of ours, not sure I want to go that route.

Now, using him for trick plays like the Steelers did with Hines Ward? I'm all for that.

I hope not. Nothing is more obvious than when you bring in a fast backup QB for 4-6 plays a game. From the presser, they continue to state that Edwards is a WR with versatility.

Its not so obvious when you throw Dwill in the mix. Plus you could add short routes like Smoke to even get Smith involved. It will def give the OC some tools to work with.

they will still do it only it own't be 1) so obvious what the panthers are going to do since edwards can throw it and 2) it won't be so embarrassing.

he'll be used in a lot more situations, though. they will try to have him on the field and in motion as much as possible.

You want dynamic players on the field as often as possible.

absolutely. probably be seeing 3 WR sets quite a bit this year.

you have williams/stewart, smitty, and now edwards on the field at the same time and you could have a dangerous situation for DCs to deal with.

throw in a big solid WR like lafell or another big but very fast WR like gettis and you have something really nice. lots of ways a defense could be torn apart there.

I agree....... and it would be crazy for them not to try it just to give the opposing DC something to plan for.

We'll probably only see him in on a few plays outside of special teams. Not even the wildcat necessarily-I think he'd actually be more dangerous in designed plays intended to get him the ball in space. I'd like to see what he can do with some screens, reverses, possibly smoke routes, etc.
