I hope not. Nothing is more obvious than when you bring in a fast backup QB for 4-6 plays a game. From the presser, they continue to state that Edwards is a WR with versatility.

I think either Edwards will be Cribbs type return man from day one....or off the roster pretty quick. I think then they use him in light slot work where he handles a heavy screen workload, reverses and whatnot.

I think they're willing to essentially sit him this first year. They think he can contribute as a receiver, but realize that will take some time and coaching.

It will be nice if he contribute right away as a returner, but by no means do I think he's out the door if he can't.
